Help…I’m a little scared

one more thing. sounds like you are potassium deficient. do you take potassium everyday?
you said you followed induction strictly. the next thing that you said was you forgot the vitamims, so, so much for following induction strictly.
i have had patients that needed blood pressure meds adjusted or eliminated within 2 weeks of starting this way of eating.
this is nothing to mess with, but can be very sucessfull. if you would like to email me privately, feel free to.

hey, you have to drink tons more water than that. and you probably don’t need the flurosemide, especially 40 mg. flurosemide is a diuretic, and low carb eating already promotes diuresis. you are dehydrated. drink water. are you having leg cramps? taking a potassium supplment?
you also have to force yourself to eat. this way of eating is not to be fooled with. if you don’t eat, you will have low blood sugar, which makes you feel like crap. if you don’t drink, you will dehydrate.
how much do you have to lose?

    Hello Monica,
I’m not the one that wrote the post you responded to, but wanted to ask you a quick question. I’ve been on induction for a week, and today I had the same symptom of the heart beat pounding to a point that I really noticed it. I typically have a rather fast heart rate, which multiple doctors have told me is nothing of concern, some people just have that. But this is more of a pounding, rather than a concern about the rate. I have no other health problems except for GERD, for which I take Protonix once a day. I’ve been doing really good with the diet, typically at least 64 ozs a day water (I’m going for about 100 ozs though.)
I am taking supplements, in a prepared daily package. You mentioned potassium levels. The supplement provides 80 mg. Is that sufficient? Is there something else I’m missing? I also haven’t experience the wonderful leap in energy that so many people talk about, and I’ve been in Ketosis since at least my third day (which is the first time I tested.)
I eat when I’m hungry - usually more meat, or sometimes cheese - just like the plan recommends. I’m not letting myself get hungry, something I really like about this WOE.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know. BTW, I’m 40 years old, and have 53.5 pounds to lose total. I haven’t taken any weight or measurements (did that before I started) - will do that in the morning. Really don’t “feel” any lighter, but I’ll see tomorrow.
    Thanks!

    Kim,
you need some additional potassium. i take 400 mg a day, in 4 separate doses. it’s easy to find, and cheap, and important to take on this way of eating.
if you will increase your fat intake, you will probably lose a bit faster. if you are waiting til you are hungry to eat, you are probably not eating enough calories. if you eat to few calories, you will lower your metabolism.
i suggest you and everyone go to www.fitday.com, and enter your food intake on a daily basis. this is a wonderful website that will calculate protein, carb, and fat intake, as well as count calories for you, and let you enter goals and exercise. very, very helpful website.
