New to the group but not Atkins
I’m a 52 year old man living in Florida. I weighted 267 lbs last
summer. I went on a strict 10 gram max induction diet and stayed on
it. I began it in Sept and by Dec I had lost over 50 lbs. I got down
to 60 lbs in Jan or Feb and then didn’t budge. Even now in June I’ve
only lost two more pounds. I found that when I went up to 20 or 25
grams I actually gained weight. I should add that I love this diet
and it’s fun to be on it, so I can live with being 205 lbs if I have
to. I’m 5′9″. I have a history of compulsive overeating and
the “unlimited” fats and proteins might not have taken binge eaters
into consideration. I lost my last two pounds by eating only small
portions of meat and fat. I don’t experience fullness like “normal”
people do. I’ve studied the science behind Atkins and I’ve developed
weird recipes that satisfy me but gross others out. Anyway, it’s nice

Connie, Hey, we’re nearly neighbors. I’m in Avondale. Don’t get me
started on Phoenix - I’ve bored enough people telling them what a
paradise this is. I love it I love it I love it. How long have you been
here? I’m assuming you weren’t born here because so far, fewer than 2%
of my acquaintances were.
Have you found anything that curbs the carb craving? I find a cup of
decaf with whipping cream does it for me. Puts them right to sleep.
Somebody else said celery with cream cheese did it for them.
If you need somebody to talk to when the worst times hit, let me know.
My husband (183/180) after 12 days is down only three pounds, though he
is in ketosis. I’m down 6. I’m not sure why we are having a slower loss,
but I suspect he isn’t eating his snacks, which makes his blood sugar
rise, and that he isn’t drinking enough water. Constipation also plays a
part. I can look at him and see the change. He’d gone over to obese, and
now he’s back. I still have the fat rolls and love handles. YUCK.

HI everybody My name is Connie I am new to the Akins diet and will need
all the support i can get I want carbs all the time. Right now i WANT
them.I have been on this diet for about 4 weeks and I keep going up and
down. I eat meat [any kind] Cheese, eggs, salads [lots of those.] I need
some thing different. Help.I what to lose 50 Pounds. I have lost 8 thats
all. I had surgery and now i have 2 and a half back. I feel like it is
a lost
cause. I don’t want to give up. I also don’t want to cheat. So far I
have not. Thanks
