Ingrid, The herring had sugar in it, right? Why do they spoil so much good food with added sugar? I can’t shop without my strong glasses to check each label.
Strawberries will be allowed later, with whipped cream. Yum.
Of course Midsummer is the biggest holiday in Sweden next to xmas. The christian church only took on the winter holiday because of all the pagans who would be good little christians until the next big pagan festival. They couldn’t compete, so they stole it and assigned it the meaning of “birth of christ” which had been blasphemy to celebrate up until then, because their religion was “about the death, not the birth.” So you can probably figure out what easter really is!
I always think it’s so funny when people sneer at Pagans and then go celebrate their biggest festivals. Not that I’m either one. I just think if people have strong beliefs, they might read a bit of the history instead of the dogma.
