Hang in there…response to Cheryl from Chicagoland
Thursday, July 31st, 2003Hi everyone…I have been like Cheryl, lost 20 pounds right away and now have
stalled after two months, for weeks. But I keep doing the same things, and
writing down EVERYTHING, with carbo counts. Found out for one thing that I was
not eating enough, so I will make adjustments. And some of my carbo count
books/websites vary, so I was eating on some days too many carbs. It seems to be
a fine science of getting it just right, but as Cheryl also says, feeling good
is what it is all about. My doctor here doesn’t do blood tests unless
emergencies(Holland) so I don’t know where I stand on that, but I did just get
back from buying some clothes. Finally, did not have to buy XL; what a joy to
buy L. And to see my waist again. My weight loss results were fast at first,
with water weight, but the end result , while slower, is worth it. I didn’t get
‘fat’ overnight, and won’t get healthy again overnight. While shopping, I
passed my favorite bread shop, and smelled the lovely things baking, but made a
decision to keep on walking past the store. Those decisions are the ones I don’t
want to make when tired, or hungry, but my life depends upon it. How about you?
Immediate gratification just isn’t worth it for me anymore. From my lips to my
hips was my old motto, now it is ‘better in the store than in my mouth’. Hang
in there, everyone. Atkins really works, if you work at it. Thanks for all the
encouragement and tips from you lovely people. Barbara in Holland
