to those of you ready to quit and feeling frustrated:

dont give up yet. i
had trouble loosing weight at first also and it was very discouraging. i dont
know if you have tried this yet and i know you have heard it before, but
exercise (as much as we all hate it) really helps jump-start it. just a walk
around the block, 4 days a week can really help move the lbs. and it is hard to
get started with exercise but i found that once i started doing it, i feel more
energized and better about myself. I do taebo tapes, which were really
difficult when i started, but each day it gets easier and i actually look
forward to
exercising.
when i realized that this diet was not working for me and seemed to work for
everyone, i decided to also add vitanutrients to the diet. they are kinda p
ricey (especially the atkins brand) so i bought them slowly. i started with
CoQ10 which is supposed to help mobilize fat. and a generic daily vitamin like
centrum to ensure that i get the vitamins and nutriens that i no longer eat. i
just added L-carnitine (sp?), which also helps mobilize fat as well as curb
cravings. i am also taking psillium husk capsuls for fiber. this sounds like
a lot of pills, which i was sceptic about at first but they help a lot. And
if you are like me and have tried other diets, then you have probably taken
more pills than that in one day. I tried a lot of stupid chemical diet pills and
paid lots more for stuff that doesnt work. these are natural vitamins that
could be helpful. these are just the ones that i chose, and when i have the
money, i will probably also purchase the Atkins Basic #3. these are all in the
book along with many others, look thru and pick some that you think may help
you.
also, i am a firm believer that if you weigh yourself more than once a week,
then you are setting yourself up for dissappointment.. your weight fluctuates
within 2-3 lbs throughout each day. if i weigh in every day or every other
day it would be likely to show no progress or even gainage. I dont own a scale,
which makes it easier for me, so i weigh myself every wednesday morning
before i eat anything on a public scale. I have only lost about 3lbs per week
(with a couple of major slip-ups). If i weighed in daily i would hardly see the
scale move and probably would have quit my now. But if you think about it, at
3lbs a week, by october i will have lost 50lbs. which is way better than
giving up.
I hope someone gets something out of my rabbling. i have been reading the
digests for a while but rarely speak up but i hate to hear of anyone giving up.
I am fairly new to this also, so i am no expert, but i do know what it is like
to feel like the plan works for everyone but me. this group is very
supportive and i probably would have quit if it wasnt for y’all. dont give up
yet!
good luck to all
