Hello, all, I just joined the group…

My parents have been on the Atkins diet for a few months now &
they’re both having GREAT success. VERY inspirational. I really
don’t have very much weight I’d like to shed, just the pesky 20 lbs
that have always kept me from being a knockout, lol. Seriously
though, I’m 24 years old & I stand at a mere 4′11″. A size 10 looks
MUCH different on me than it does on someone who’s, say, 5′7″. I’m
also VERY bottom-heavy. I look like a pear with legs, seriously.
Too bad spot-reducing doesn’t work, or I’d be using my Thigh Master
24/7!
I’ve done my rounds with diet pills to no avail, and now I’m ready
to change my lifestyle in persuit of the body I’ve only dreamed
about. I LOVE CARBS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve ALWAYS been a bread & pasta
person, so the thought of the Atkins diet has always scared me. But
like I mentioned, my parents are very dedicated to the diet, and
they’re looking better than they have in years! For example, I
bought my dad a pair of jeans for his birthday in May, and I
remember how they fit him perfectly when I got them for him, and now
they’re REALLY baggy on him! It’s simply amazing, and I’d give
anything to achieve those results!
So, I’m officially starting the diet…now :). I already had a mini-
pizza for lunch, so I’m compensating by having a boiled egg &
veggies for dinner. Which reminds me, I need everyones advice.
What are some good foods to take to work with me? One thing that I
HAVE to stop is visiting the vending machines & fast food
restaurants during my lunch breaks. There’s a refridgerator at work
that we’re all allowed to use, so it’s time I took advantage of
that. For you all in the same boat (taking bagged lunch to work),
what do you all recommend?
Also, what are some good things to remember to help keep me
motivated through the induction? I have a feeling I’m going to need
a lot of help with this, & I’m really glad I found this group! I
look forward to talking to you all soon.
Ann
