After surgery i ate extremely little…….i would share someones plate if
even that……..as time passed i had more and more….that was 5 years ago i
still cant eat a full sandwich with regular american bread, abd i can only have
a slice and a half of pizza…….then i started with the bad things, chips,
cookies, pepsi, etc. and i put on 40 lbs just this past year and 1/2. So its
not how much i ate it was WHAT i ate………and i knew this too OMG??!!!!!! I
thought i HAD to follow everything on Atkins induction or close to
it…..thats why i asked. Thanks………………..Rosa

I am new here. I did subscribe last week and have been reading the
posts to see how others are doing. We started the Induction phase
officially last night. Both my husband and I are doing the Atkins
thing. We both need to lose quite a bit of weight for health reasons.
I haven’t seen any other diet really work for anyone. I have two aunts
that are in different phases of the Atkins diet and they are having good
luck at losing the weight and inches that they need to.
I have been reading the book to see exactly what to do and will keep it
handy to go back to for pointers.
I tried a recipe that someone posted making lo carb cheesecakes. I did
that today. I need to have something around with sweet in it for some
snacks. I couldn’t find the vanilla syrup, so used vanilla extract.
Tastes just fine. I doubled the recipe, so needed to cook about 20
minutes instead of the fifteen. Then a few minutes ago, I realized that
even though I doubled the amount of cream cheese, I forgot to double the
egg, vanilla and splenda. It was plenty sweet enough. Next time will
have to double the rest of the ingredients!!!!! Thank you whoever for
that recipe.
We feel that the Induction phase will be easy for us to follow. We both
love having salads, veggies and meat.
I have been cutting down on my carbs this past week and do notice some
difference. I did weigh myself last week and then this morning. I
forget to this morning until after I had eaten. But I have lost 3
pounds so far and that makes me happy.
I will mainly be a lurker, but will post from time to time.
