veggies

Sunday, March 14th, 2004

My problem is with the veggies. I really need a good list of very low carb
veggies I can keep handy to snack on. I have a feeling that the veggies, along
with the cheese, were completely undermining my carb intake, and I wasn’t aware
of it. I am getting ready to start again, but want to make sure I have enough
things in the kitchen to handle any cravings before I begin. I was off coffee
and tea for a while, but I just simply love the taste so much that I started
drinking it again. And of course there is sugar. I won’t drink it without
sugar, no substitute has ever been the same. So right from the start there are
things I can’t have, then take away juice and that leaves me craving first thing
in the morning. I know it is a mindset, so I have to get mine right before I
begin, but I desperately need to know what veggies have worked for others that
are terribly low in carbs. I detest celery by the way (same with liver) so
those two items just aren’t options for me.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Patty

Ok, my final question of the day (I think)….

Sunday, March 14th, 2004

I worry about the nutrients I will be lacking from not drinking milk..
What can I do to make up for them is there one specific supplement?
Or do I have to take a few, like Calcium, Potassium, etc…
Thanks

Hi there all ,
Day 2 of induction here , doing good but I’m tired , my friend who
is also doing this says that is normal for some people until my
blood sugar straightens out . So anyhow , I had a question . What is
the point of stopping the caffeine ? I have cut down , but wanted to
know what will happen if I don’t stop it completely ? Also if anyone
here has kids …. did you all just STOP buying and giving carb
snacks to your kids? I’m not putting them through the NO carb
thing . I know that it want hurt for them to cut down though.
That is all for now , I’ll be checking in for support and
encouragement :) thanks a bunch all and good luck to you all

Hi every one. I’m Kristin. I just bought the book from ebay and am
overeager to get it in the mail! I can’t wait to get started. I had
never had to watch my weight and could pretty much eat what ever and
when ever i wanted (don’t you hate those people) and then…I had
babies. Ugh. I love those little ones but man what a job they have
done on my body. I hope to get these pounds off fast! My goal is to
lose 30-40 pounds. That seems like to huge amount to me as never
having dieted in my life before. I am gonna lean on you guys a lot.
Get ready…lol. I love to eat and usually eat 6 times a day.
Sweets are my friend. Plus, I love to bake and cook elaborate meals
when entertaining. Which we do a lot of.

Anything else?

Ive been on the induction for 6 days now. So far ive lost 6 pounds
and even tho im sure most of its water weight im still happy about
it. I got the book and ive went to the Atkins site and read tons of
stuff but im still a little confused about a few things. While on
induction you can only have the foods it lists right? I went to
walmart and they had some things that looked really good but i cant
do any of them until after induction right? No shakes, bars, or
anything right?
Before i started this i couldnt sleep for anything. I was
constantly jittery and uptight all the time. For the first 3 days
when i started this i felt awful to say the least. I had a headache
for 3 days straight. On the 4th day i woke up and felt like a
million bucks and i still do. I weighed 200 on the dot when i
started and my BP was 160/110. Cant wait to see what its like in a
month.

Hello. I’ve sent two emails introducing myself from my computer, and
am now going through the site. I don’t know if I’m on moderated and
the list owner just isn’t looking, or if there is a glitch and
somehow my emails aren’t getting through. Getting frustrated here
though since I’m looking for support like the rest of you but can’t
seem to be heard.

Patty
