I was om Atkins 10 years ago when carbs weren’t even allowed and lost
50 lbs. In trying it again I am feeling tired. I take a multivitamin
daily, exercise (spinning, weight trainig, aerobic stepping class) 3-
4 times a week. I am drinking 8 glasses of water a day - I find I am
always thirsty. I am eating enough at mealtime - I have a pretty
healthy appetite.
Anyone else have this tired feeling? Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Hi everyone,
I’m thinking about starting the atkin’s diet. But i read everywhere
that i can eat 3 cups of vegetables with less than 10% carbo’s. When
i eat an entire cucumber and like 75 grams of lettuce i still only
have like 10 carbo’s. and thats more then 3 cups. Can someone help
me explain this?

Hello all! I was on the Atkins a few months ago and then fell off the
wagon. What I want to know is what exactly can I eat and drink the
first two weeks? Can I have fruit or no? If there is a website I
would appreciate a link.
thanks

i found a recipe for protein bars in the files on one of the lists
(can’t remember which one) i melted the butter, cream cheese and
chocolate in a skillet (don’t have a microwave) then added vanilla,
protein powder, splenda…instructions said to mix well then pat in
pan and refrigerate…
however, as i was in the process of mixing well, the butter started
to separate and i couldn’t incorporate it back into the stiff glob
of ‘dough’ i was working with…
anyone know what i did wrong?
thanks,
barbara
Hi everyone~
I’m a new group member, new to Atkins, new to it all!
I just started Induction yesterday and I am already feeling
different, which is comforting, since it all flies in the face of
everything that I had been “taught.”
I feel like I really have found a great thing and it was my doctor
who recommended it to me after my annual physical.
I have A LOT of weight to lose, but I hope reaching out will help me
do just that too.

I don’t know if I am a step behind, but can someone please send the recipe
for the cheesecake muffins? I tried looking in the posts and couldn’t find them.
Thanks,
I appreciate it!

My hubby just started on insulin today, the pills weren’t keeping
his sugar down.
Would he do the induction? He is skinny, and doesn’t need to
loose any weight. We just wanted to get his sugar down.
I think he is finally scared enough to change his diet. Even with
diabetis, he would have a stash of candy and little debbies. His
food consisted of meat, potatoes and corn, forget any other
veggy.. I cooked his way for many years, but when I went on the
Atkins I told him I was cooking for me and my health, he could
eat it or fix his own. So off to Mickey ds he would go if he didn’t
like what I fixed. I did fix the cauliflower like mashed potatoes one
evening, ( you never tell him what he is eating ) he actually liked
it.Sorry this is so long, does he do the induction also? And will
he still be able to drink his diet Pepsi’s or does he have to
change that also? Thanks for any info you can help with, Lynda
I’m starting my 5th day on Atkins and have developed achiness in the kidney
which started yesterday. Are other experiencing this? Is this something I
should be alarmed about? Will it subside, or should I be making some
changes to my diet?
Any help would be appreciated. Could you please email me separately as well
as to the group - I’m on digest and may not receive a reply until the
following day.
Thanks!
