Who knew?
Hi, everyone,
I’m on day # 12 of the Induction phase and I’m astounded at how
balanced my blood sugar levels are and how my symptoms have abated.
If I never lose another single pound (I’ve lost 8 so far), I will
continue with the diet just because it’s the first time in ten years
that I haven’t been hungry every two hours with a gnawing in the pit
of my stomach, I’m not tired after lunch, and I don’t have any
snacking cravings in the evening. This is SO amazing to me! Before
the Atkins diet, I would literally crash after lunch at work and fall
asleep in ten minutes and DREAM on the chaise lounge in the PUBLIC
RESTROOM on my floor. I’d wake myself up snoring too loudly! Now, I
don’t get tired at all during the day, and I can easily go for four
to five hours without feeling hungry. For years I wondered if I had
some sort of psychological problem (though I never could figure out
what!), that made me so hungry. I kept wondering what it was I
trying to fill. WHO KNEW that it was just my blood chemistry out of
whack?! I’m 51 yr. old and started at 205 lb and with a triglyceride
level of 180 (definitely not good!). I’m also on a low dose of high
blood pressure medicine for mild hypertension. I’m hoping to get
down to 145-150 lb., but even if I don’t, this diet has already been
a tremendous boost to my psychological well-being and sense of self-
esteem. My husband has also been following the diet with me and has
lost 11 pounds so far. This is SO Great!!! Pam ![]()
