I am posting this just to see if it is working yet…this is like my
10 note….they aren’t posting and i’m going mad.
Hi! I am about to start atkins on Saturday, once i’ve bought food and
finish reading the book. I went on the atkins web page and i was
looking through the recepies and i noticed that each one has a “net
carb” listing per serving. For exapmle baked meatballs say that the
recepie makes 4 servings and there are 2.5 net carbs per serving. My
question is is how much is a serving?? Is one meatball a serving? I
don’t think it is but i want to be absolutely sure how many will
equal the 2.5 grams. It is the same for all these recipies and i am
sure there is some logical and obvious answer but i don’t know!!!!!
Please help!!!
Hi Everyone,
I just read this post and I’m confused, doesn’t Vodka have Carbs?

I’d appreciate anyone’s input. - I like Dr. Atkins diet very much for
the multiple health benefits, especially, in my case, preventing
diabetes as it is in my family. (As are heart disease and high blood
pressure, as well!)
However, although I’m fine during the day, I’m finding having the
will power to exclude a starch with dinner impossible for me, and I’m
just starting the Induction phase so I keep failing and starting from
Day 1 again the next day - which again is easy all day until
dinnertime, and then the same thing happens again, including craving
sweets afterwards, which last night led to TWO peanut butter
sandwiches on WHITE BREAD!
I’m wondering whether The Carbohydrate Addicts Diet, (minus the
hour-long carb pigout some people on that diet are doing), modified
to include just a small serving of a non-white starchy carb, such as
a sweet potatoe or brown rice instead of white, followed by a full-
fat yogurt for desert — might be better-suited to me, but am
concerned about whether such a diet would defeat the purpose, in
itself.
HELP! — Any suggestions, thoughts, ideas or input of any kind???
Please feel free to answer via a group post OR off-list at

Thanks very much,

Hi,
I am researching different programs, Atkins, South Beach, etc. The
two I mentioned seem very similar. I was wondering what the “main”
differences are if anyone knows. Also has anyone else tried the
6WBMO (michael thurmond), if so, which did you like better - Atkins
or 6WBMO?
Thanks so much for the help!!!!
Hi, I have been on Atkins Induction for awhile now and have my walking plan
in order — I get off the bus about 45 minutes from work and walk. If I
walked the entire way, it would be 90 minutes.
We were all writing about the cost of “doing Atkins” — I do not use the
Atkins products, I wanted to change my entire way of thinking/eating, not
just use substitutes for the carbs! I eat a lot of eggs, cheese, poultry.
I buy things on sale, especially meat, poultry and from the deli. I also
eat a large chef salad for lunch every day. I do not count carbs with my
salads, just for the non-salad vegetables.
As to cheating, the only thing is, I like some “crunch” with my salad, so I
toss on a few croutons, usually onion and cheese or garlic and cheese (I am
also careful what breath mints I use at work, for their carbs). This adds
just a few carbs and I know it is worth it for me, since I makes me not want
to cheat on anything else.
One other thing, counting today, there are 52 days left until the end of the
year. I will probably cheat (with turkey dressing — that’s stuffing in
some parts of the country), but not with anything sweet, on Thanksgiving and
Christmas days, so I have these days left to lose the rest of my weight. I
am not going to get on the scale until December 31.
Okay, living alone does help with this, I am sure.
Anyone else game?
Ellen
Hi everyone, I am very excited to be here..I just started the Dr.
Atkins “Induction Diet” today and am not sure if I am doing it right.
I hate veggies, so that makes it a little difficult..lol
Any help would be appreciated (with substitutes etc.) Anyone have a 1
week menu plan I could maybe print off.
Thanks!

Is “edam” or “gouda” cheese acceptable during induction?
