Book online?
Saturday, July 31st, 2004Is the Atkins book online that I could read it? Or do you all feel
that it is necessary to have the book? Can I just figure out the
diet by doing this all online?
Just thought I would ask!
Thanks

to me, eating normally is not to be completelyOBSESSED with counting carbs ,
it is allowing your self some good moments and enjoying some food with
parcimony …once in a while …….
I crashed and burned on Day One a week ago Saturday. Went to an
event in the evening and couldn’t help myself but eat potato chips
and drink pop.
Today is Day Two of my second attempt at Atkins Induction for two
weeks and continued weight control with a little more freedom in food
choices after that (during the Christmas season).
My goal is to go from 235 lbs to under 200 lbs. Yesterday I bought a
George Foreman grill because they work great and I love grilled beef
and chicken. For lunch today it’s a steak sandwhich with a garden
salad, no salad dressing.
Cheers!
Ok…I just joined the group today. I am starting Induction on
Friday. I have one question about the 20 carbs. If I am getting my
carbs in veggies, do they have to be salad greens?
Or can I have low carb other veggies that are on the list of OK foods?
Thanks!
Kristie
HI..I’m new to the group and have been on Atkins before. I lost
almost 60 pounds and felt great. The problem is I’ve started back
to college and have gained some back…well almost 15 pounds. I’d
like to lose 20-25 pounds again but just don’t have the motivation
or support at home now. I’m getting frustrated and know that I’ll
feel better once I get going…but it’s the getting going that is
kicking my rear. Anyone with suggestions?
Did anyone get my recipe for Pumpkin cheesecake? I was having some trouble
with my email and I don’t know if it got through.
I know that Thanksgiving is just days away but I really like to have
things that I can eat along with the family and not cheat or feel
deprived. Here is one of the recipes I make and my whole family eats
it. Pumpkin squares. It takes: 15 oz. can plain pumpkin, 12 oz.
carton heavy cream, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup splenda, 1/4 cup brown sugar
twin, 1/2 t. salt and 2 t. pumpkin pie spice. You dump all
ingredients into a mixing bowl and beat well. Pour into an 8 inch
baking dish sprayed. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Here is the
topping: 1/2 cup chopped pecans, 2 T. melted butter, 1 T. splenda and
2 drops of vanilla. Mix topping well until pecans are coated with
melted butter mixture. Spoon over pumpkin filling and return to oven
for 20 more minutes. It tastes better refrigerated but you can eat it
warm. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream. Makes 9 servings. 6.5
grams each. Enjoy!!!!! Pat
Here is a great eggnog if your a fan. Its hazelnut eggnog. It takes
6 eggs, 1/2 c. sugar free hazelnut syrup, 1 1/2 c. heavy cream, 2
cups water, 1 t. vanilla. In a large saucepan, beat the eggs and
splenda. In a mixing bowl, mix the hazelnut syrup, cream and water.
Pour 2 cups of the cream mixture into the egg mixture. Cook over low
heat, stirring constantly until liquid is thick enough to coat spoon.
Thermometer reaches 140 degrees. Remove from heat and stir in
remaining cream mixture and add vanilla. Cover and refrigerate about
4 hours before serving. This makes 6 servings and its 3.4 carbs per
serving. Its so good!!!!!!! Pat
How much is a serving and how many carbs a serving? Sharon
