smoking Crack cocaine. That isn’t the route I would recommend to anyone. When
I finally beat that addiction, I found that food was an important part of my
recovery. I had forgotten how wonderful a well grilled steak tasted. I had
starved myself for almost a year.
everything…hence the massive weight gain.BUT…I had color in ,my cheeks,
and a sparkle in my eye. then I broke my back…a simple fracture, but it
put me out of action for 3 months…and I had started to swim daly at my
local YMCA…so ….another easy 20 pound gain,and a sense of failure.

Wendy… I agree CONGRATS to you!!!! You have gone thru a tough
time and you deserve a huge pat on the back!! I have a daughter that
went thru some really tough drug issues… I tell ya she was about
5′4″ and 100 lbs.. nothing but a rail (although she was always
thin).. She had a friend that was just as bad.. They both got clean
about the same time and what a joy to see them gaining weight and
seeing the color in their faces again!! They are both pretty young
and naturally pretty thin so they don’t have any troubles with their
weight now (lucky them!!) but the road to recovery was tough none
the less…
So to you I send my best heart felt wishes for the accomplishments
you are still working for and a HUGE hug for those you have already
met!! I am truly proud of you!!!!
Peace!
Mary
