Cravings
Oh MY GOD.
I am on day 3 of induction. How do you deal with cravings? I am not
hungry but I want something–anything. I assume that is cravings of sugar or
carbs. I was able to starve off to one diet coke yesterday and haven’t had one
today yet. What do you guys do for the cravings? Can I munch on carrots,
celery? Something. Can I chew gum? Etccc….. Please I cant believe how bad
I
want something.

when i first started the 1st week i was lucky to eat 14-15 carbs, but now i
am averaging around 18-19, only a couple days have actually gotten 20, and 1
day even 20.1.
add some cheese, or olives, etc…
and also, if you use splenda or drink diet sodas, are you counting those
carbs too?

Hey ya Teresa! I am going to tell you something here that will prove
my true deep southern country girl roots… don’t laugh at me!!
For those “gotta have some chips” cravings (even works pretty well
for the sweet craving) I have some pork cracklings set aside in the
fridge with a touch of salt on them.. it really takes care of the
cruncy needs.. (be careful to not break a tooth LOL) This isn’t
for everyone… I mean not many folks want to eat fried up pig
skins!! … These are’t those weird pork rinds you get in the chip
isle.. you get these from the meat/dairy section of the grocery.
As for the celery.. yummy there too! I do a touch of creme cheese
on a celery stalk.. generally I do a stalk for my dinner plate..
radishes are good too.. you can slice those up for little chip type
ymmies too!
I think that idea of cooking up the pepperoni sounds really good
too… hmm if one would put a touch of grated cheese and a slice of
black olive in those… lol a pepperoni pizza!!!
Peace!

Egad. We have six inches of snow on the ground and we keep our house
heated to 62 degrees. I think I’ll pass on this method, at least
until Spring.
Cravings-killer: I find that an ounce of sharp or Colby cheese melted
on a slice of a slightly spicey sausage kills the craving for
something sweet and fills me up if I get hungry between lunch and
dinner. A baked egg in a cup works too.

Yesterday I was having a “carb craving”. I had a salad along with my
If anyone has any suggestions to satisfy a sweet tooth an Atkins
beef roast for dinner and all I wanted was ONE DARN CROUTON! LOL But
alas, I did not have it. Today I am having a sugar craving. I have
nothing at all in the house that is sugar or the resembles anything
sweet, not even sugar free jello, I’m really craving though–
I guess I’ll try a piece of Orbit gum and see if that helps.
friendly way other than Jello, please let me know!

Ahh Chris I’m so with you on this one. I wish I had some better advice but I
don’t really know of anything sweet, I’m thinking maybe the faux french toast
with some sugar free syrup. Anyway just to share with you, today we went out
to lunch. Dh wanted to go to the all you can eat restaurant…which I
promptly changed to the all you can’t eat restaurant, because that is how I was
feeling, dh too, because he follows the diet as well. But anyway what I was
going
to say was for dessert my kids had brownies with ice cream and cookies…I
was about to die it looked so darn good. I just kept telling myself what Ed
said the other day “Nothing tastes as good as thin feels” Maybe that will help
you too.
