John-a few topics covered
John,
First of all, what a great idea about adding the database showing peoples
weight loss. That should be very motivational for people when they consider
switching to a different weight loss plan. I have know so many people that
lose weight on Atkins then when they go for a few days or even weeks without
a loss they want to try Weight Watchers or low fat. This will be more proof
that this WOE works! I really don’t know what to put for myself. I have
been doing this for so long, even before I had any weight to lose. I
started it for the health benefits. Though, now I do want to lose about
8-10 lbs. and have lost about 5 lbs. since Saturday.
I wish I could give you a better answer on what Xenadrine and similar
supplements did for me. I don’t necessarily think that it alone caused me
to lose weight faster. I do think that it decreased my appetite though and
caused me to eat less at times. It was helpful for that and the energy that
I received.
The only drawback when I stopped taking it was at first I felt like I
couldn’t wake up. I felt like that for days all day long. I took
supplements like that for so long, I was used to the buzz that I got from
them. (A jittery upbeat, awake, talk so fast feeling and I never even took
more than 2 pills all day!) When I stopped taking the supplements I had NO
energy. Now I am fine and am back to normal. I will only take something if
I didn’t get enough sleep or I don’t feel good and am just having a low
energy day.
My 2 cents about the body fat scales: I have one too (Tanita) and it always
changes numbers. Two things that can affect the scales accuracy are your
body hydration levels and the temperature of your feet and if they are damp.
I wouldn’t buy another scale if I were you. I think all of them fluctuate
like yours does. (I know mine does.) I would take my daily measurements
and then do a weekly average of what your body fat is. That is also a good
idea for people that weigh themselves daily, do a weekly average. My weight
can fluctuate by a few pounds without a change in my diet. Some variables
can be salty foods consumed, TOM, or amount of liquid/foods consumed.
I am a scale and GNC addict. Actually, I don’t go to GNC but I have a
vitamin store one block away that carries lots of products. I love to buy
the low carb versions of foods that I miss. I don’t even have enough room
in my cupboards for any more lc foods, yet I keep buying more! I’m so
addicted! For the scale, I am trying to break that habit. I rarely go
longer than 2 days without weighing myself! That is progress for me though.
I used to weigh myself a minimum of 3 times daily! It ruins my day so much
that I sometimes go off plan because I get so depressed, if I gain 1 pound.
When I see this in writing I see that is ridiculous!

Laura,
You and I both have Tanita. I am
John
Forgot to address scales issues
curious what scales with BMI others are using and if they have the same
results we have…
As for weighing in too much.. I had lost all the weight I wanted to loose in
2000 and was really happy… I stopped scale’ing it. Then I gained all that
weight back with interest and for a year and a half you couldn’t PAY me to
get my feet up on that scale.. I avoided it like the plague because I knew
it was just going to tell me what I already knew… and I was afraid just
how high the numbers might be this time. I was relieved when I finally
started Atkins I was only 1 lbs more this time than the last time I went on
a diet.. I was afraid it would be like 10 to 20 lbs… But once over that
initial fear of shock, I am weighing eveyr morning. It’s one of those
situations where I wish I could be lazy again and ignore the scale for a
week or two at a time but I guess we all strive for some validation for our
efforts and the scale is one measure of that.
Lets break that addiction together

Hello again Laura,
Show me the
Thanks for sharing your experiences with Xenadrine. The energy boost I am
getting from it right now is .. well just phenominal. I went from dragging
my tired ass around all day to eagerly going and doing the things I need to
do in my day. It’s also put me in much greater spirits. So far its only 2
days so too early to see any downside or bad effects to the diet but I will
keep ya posted!
And thanks for the support for the database feature. I’m really aching to
see by year end how much weight the entire egroup lost
numbers!!!!
