I’m here!

Friday, December 31st, 2004

I am so glad my posts finally came through.. I lost 10 pounds the first week
of induction! YAYY.. The first couple of days were the most difficult, but
things are much easier now. I don’t get hungry between meals, and I am eating
much less and feeling full. I am looking forward to offering and getting
support from other Atkins dieters

I don’t seem to be getting any messages form this list. I keep
getting things from something called lowcarbohydrateproducts.com. I
am subscribed. I double checked.

6th week and Loving it

Friday, December 31st, 2004

I plan on being on Induction for a while. Can I eat walnuts? The
package I bought says 3 gms Carb and 3 gm fiber. I dont weigh
myself but measure success by my pants size etc. The belt notches
are decreasing. At this point I have stayed away from fruits and
moderate carb foods but do look for crunchy-salty stuff similar
to “chips”. Unlike other diets where it is easy to rationalize
cheating Atkins requires lypolosis and even a small “cheat” can take
you out of spilling ketones. This notion helps me to stay on track.
Does anyone feel their ability to stay focused while at work is
affected? Any advice??

Loss of Weight

Thursday, December 30th, 2004

I started Atkins with my hubby on 1/2/04. To date I have lost 5
pounds. I am so happy. We gave ourselves little goals with one
final goal. I have 50 pounds to lose and he has 25. After every 10
pounds we get $25 dollars. After we hit our goal and stay there for
3 months we get $1000. THis money is to do whatever we want with.
To us this is a big thing because we follow a strict budget and only
allow ourselves $25 a week to do whatever we want with so we are able
to save. I am so excited that I am 1/2 way to my first $25. I am
5′2 and now weigh 168. I am hoping to reach my goal by Christmas but
of course earlier would be better.

My Wednesday Menu

Thursday, December 30th, 2004

Ok, I was laying in bed last night thinking about what to eat today. The funny
part of that was, I was “planning” my menu, not “obsessing” about what I can
eat. THAT feels good!!
When I shop, I have a list, but I don’t sit down and write out my menu for the
week or whatever. I just know I need to get stuff for dinners, b’fasts, etc.
Anyway… here goes…
B’fast
Atkins Almond crunch cereal
Atkins 2% Milk
Lunch
Sausage Patty w/melted Mont/Jack cheese
buttered asparagus
Snack
Cherry Jello w/ whipped cream
Dinner
Whopper w/cheese (no bun)
Wed nights are youth night at church, so I take the kids out for supper, should
be ok though, no biggie. I might have some more Jello when we get home.

New to Atkins.

Thursday, December 30th, 2004

Hi,
My name is Donna, and I live in Australia. I am keen to start the
induction period tomorrow, but on the shown menu list I have not
heard of many of the ingredients. I have tried a high carb low fat
diet which did not cause me to loose weight. Can anyone tell me the
most simple way to start this diet. I am just not sure how to start.
What is a simple breakfast.

Where do I find low carb products?

Help! I’m on my second time with Atkins and keep seeing low carb
tomato sauce, pizza sauce, etc. listed in recipes. Where on earth
can I find these?
Thanks!

Just Starting and Confused A Little

Thursday, December 30th, 2004

Hello Everyone,
I started Induction 3 days ago and I think I’m doing pretty good. How
long should it take to see results? Also, can anyone tell me if diet
coke is ok during Induction? I see that it has 0 carb grams. Also,
when I have my salad, is it ok to have salad dressing on it? I
haven’t had any bread or sweets for the past 3 days, so I think that
is a plus on my end. If someone has the time can you please answer
these questions for me?

Thank you,
Courmyra

Advice on this recipe, please

Wednesday, December 29th, 2004

Hi,
I’ve been on Atkins for about 4 weeks and have lost 18 pounds. My
daughter and I were trying to figure out a way to make some scallops
that we had in the freezer. We dipped them in beaten egg, then
lightly coated them with almond flour and fried them in oil. They
were absolutely wonderful!!
It seems like the carb count would be low but I hope we didn’t make
a mistake with this meal. Any comments?

question about moving from stage 1 to stage 2

Wednesday, December 29th, 2004

Hello,
I have been losing weight rather easily on induction, but each time I
try to move from induction to stage 2, my weight loss stalls.
I know the simple answer, is probably to just stay on induction, and
lose the weight, but am curious if others have encounteres this
problem?
I have made several attempts to go to stage 2, but am at the point of
giving up; I am just not sure how healthy it may be to continue
induction indefinitly. I have lost nearly 90 pounds, and not really
complaining, just looking to see if others have this problem, and
maybe some tips they used to assist them.
Thank You, and a very nice group here.
