Warning: these pictures are NOT pretty!!!
I tried uploading a picture to the group site but for some reason it
didn’t work, so I am throwing caution to the wind and posting the link
for my diet progress page.
Boy, do I hope I can post prettier pictures soon!!! I’m surprised the
camera didn’t break.

I am planning to make the Atkins faux bake mix but I am having a hard
time finding soy protein isolate so I am wondering if using whey
protein will do the same thing. Has anyone tried doing this?
Also, today when I bought soy flour there was high or low fat. Which
one is the best to buy? I figured the high fat was the better of the
two, however since it only came in samll bags and the low came in
large bags, I purchased the low fat version, as it was a better value.
And we all know eating healthy isn’t cheap!
Thanks for any input.
OK, don’t want to scare any of you, but i put my photo in the picture
section. I moonlight as a plus size model for a local clothing store. THis is

b4 induction. I am 5″4 and 215 pounds. View at you own risk!

Friends are like angels who lift us to our feet, when our wings have trouble
remembering how to fly.
You can stay on induction as long as you want to right? I’ve got close to
100lbs to lose, so can I stay on Induction until I lose the majority of it?
Will you continue to lose weight quickly. I read on their website that you can
lose up to a pound a day, but any more would be dangerous.

Got It, Thanks! Don’t want to do the Fat Fast until I’ve exhausted all options
on regular Induction. Knocked myself out of Ketosis again (that makes once last
week and once this week) this week, so I want to start over as if Today is day 1
and see what happens. Will probably still find myself with a high to average
degree of Metabolic Resistance, but time will tell!
Again, Thanks!

I have completed my first week of Atkins and now am on day 8. In
review I have learned quite a bit.
1. sauces often have hidden carbs
2. Sour cream can be used in multiple ways in place of sauces
3. turkey slices spread with cream cheese and made into wraps are
YUMMY!
4. If I stay away from carbs, I don’t crave them, don’t get hungry
and feel much better
5. this diet seems to reduce gas discomfort
6. I can eat well and healthy on Atkins
I am really happy with the progress I have made in just a week.
Going to use this week to decide if I should move to On Going Weight
Loss after this new week is completed or stay on induction another
week or two. Total pounds lost since starting = 7

Okay, how do I make reading these numbers fit with the info you are giving us???
looks like big number for even weight, much less weight loss…what am I missing
here.

Jen,
If you haven’t done so already, I would post your meals for a few days and
see if people have any thoughts. Also you said eating less fat that before
in your post - unless you were eating a lot of fat before, you should
probably be eating more. About the exercise - start now! Even if it is
walking around the block just once. Do it. There are people here that
started that way - and each day it gets better. A year ago I started
running - I couldn’t even run for 30 seconds. I just came back from a 5K
run - sitting at the computer all sweaty! If I can do it so can you.
Also to the other people who are not loosing tons of weight - it is not
HEALTY to loose more than 1 to 2 lbs a week. In Atkins - in the beginning -
you loose more - a lot of it is water - but it does level off - you cannot
continue loosing 5 to 8 lbs per week forever it is just not possible. And
if you did it would not be good for your body. The book even says to
increase your carbs until you do level off at around 2lbs per week and keep
that going until you get close to your goal - then increas even more so that
the last few (10 - I think it says) take around 3 months to loose. If you
go too fast you have not learnt how to maintain and maintenance is what will
keep the weight off once you have lost it.
The other thing - please get the book and read it if you don’t have it - it
is very clear about what to eat - what to do if you stall - when to go off
induction etc. What to do if you are metabolicly resistant - Jen there is a
chapter on what to do if you don’t loose much in the induction period - have
you read it?
Just want to stress this is not a quick fix - yes most people get really
great results in the first week or two - but it does level off - so please
don’t get discouraged.
Hope that helps,
Janene
