Does anyone in here know any way of treating the extra skin to
tighten it? I’ve heard that Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E will help.
I’m now finding that the skin on my stomach folds over, vertically,
when I button my pants and would like to do whatever I can to
minimize the chances I’ll need surgery when I hit my target. Thanks!!

More than anything, I wish we could have a subject line that let us see the
subject of the messages instead of the AD. I understand the purpose for the ad,
but email to Outlook Express totally removes anything but the Re: ‘Ad’ which is
worthless for following threads!!!!! (Ad = www.lowcarbohydrateproducts.com does
a whole mail box full of that get anymore business than having that as a by-line
as a footer? Just wondering here.

Hi Patti, I use fitday and find it very useful, but do keep a list by the
computer of my fiber and sugar alcohol in things I’ve eaten. Then when fitday
says my carb count for the day, I subtract the fiber, etc and have a more
accurate count. I owned DietPower and it had many things about it that did not
work for me; I think there are no perfect programs, so you may have to work with
the one you use and do the necessary ‘tweaking’ needed for your personal use.
Just my opinion….Barbara
Good thoughts Nika, and so right. No company wants to lose our business, so
they will adjust the labels, etc. to make those who don’t read label
ingredients pick up their product. It is only for a short time that we all
have to be so diligent, and then we can have our limited carbohydrates and
snacks again. We, the consumer, need to be aware that we have to take care
of our own needs….the companies won’t .
Good for Subway, and all the others who are honest about saying…”not good for
induction.” As we all repeat over and over again, induction is to get the body
weaned from the old way of eating and teach it to use other ways to burn
calories. (All explained in Atkin’s books and website.) I had to give up trying
to find substitutes for what I couldn’t eat, and put the wasted effort into
finding tasty ways to prepare the foods I am allowed. Like a baby, I kick and
scream internally, and want a piece of chocolate or a piece of chocolate cake to
make me feel better…LOL. Choices, do I want the temporary feeling of eating
high carbohydrates, or the long term feeling of buying clothes in smaller sizes,
and having fewer health problems? Darn, I wish I could have someone else work
this all out for me, and then I can blame them when I gain weight again…rofl.
Hang in there, newbies, it truly is worth it…and soon induction will be over,
and you are on your way to low carb eating as a WOE!…Success to all, Barbara

………..Welcome to the group, and hopefully, we who live out of the
country, can support each other. Telling someone how it feels to be so isolated
from our country of origin, and living it is two different things, isn’t it?
But thankfully, wherever we live we all can and hopefully will, eat healthier
choices than the last decade. Weren’t most of us taken in by the ‘low fat’
craze, and yet kept gaining weight?. I can’t believe, that at one time in my
life in California, I DROVE to Carl’s Jr for a hamburger, when I could just as
easily eaten at home…and the worst part of it is that I didn’t even get the
car out of gear…I lived right behind 5 fast food chains, and yet I drove
there? So, moving to Holland, where most people walk or ride bikes, was a mind
blower. And then, not to have my fast food! I And …….you get the point,
don’t you? I now realize that I lost nothing when moving to Europe, except bad
habits, eating and otherwise. I read what the USA girls are eating and buying
(the extras, like special flours, candy bars, etc.) and I get homesick., But,
by just eating simple foods as listed in the induction diet has brought health
and smaller clothes sizes, so I don’t think I’m strong enough yet to wish that
Europe would put Atkins in every store. LOL. Keep us informed how you are
doing, and jump in with your tips and questions. Success, Barbara in Holland
Well I did my weekly weight in. Still the same. 206. I’ve been at that weight
for 2 weeks. I think I am undereating. The basal calculator says I should be
eating about 1500 calories. I think I’m eating abou 1000. Still not
discouraged, but I’m going to keep a clser track of everything I put in my
mouth!!
