Subject lines

Tuesday, May 24th, 2005

I realize this is the moderator’s board and they can do whatever they
will with it, but the long URL in the subject lines is REALLY annoying.
The URL is in every single footer on every message; could it please be
shortened on the subject lines? Pretty please?
Or maybe I should put it this way…
The subject lines need to “lose some weight”!!

On Induction - I “need” something sweet

Tuesday, May 24th, 2005

Any suggestions? 5th day on into Induction, and I’m having terrible sweet
cravings after dinner (when hubby and I used to have dessert and coffee). I’m
thinking sugar free jello with whipping cream???
Can anybody tell me about the whipping cream thing? Do you just whip it
without anything else? Do you add Splenda? Can you keep it for a day or two,
once it’s made?
Other ideas about satisfying the sweet cravings?
HELP me please.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Diane :)

Skin changes

Monday, May 23rd, 2005

Has anyone else noticed a change in their skin since being on
Atkins? My skin is softer and looks a bit lighter. Not exactly like
Nicole Kidman, but it looks better.
This is my first week on induction, I’ve lost 4 pounds! I wish I
would have measured my waist and hips before I started
because I look soooo much better now!
Gotta go excercise now! Thank you everyone for being here.
Great inspiration to me!

Turnip Fries

Sunday, May 22nd, 2005

I sliced up half a turnip last evening, placed the strips in a
ziplock bag with some salt, pepper, spices, and garlic powder and a
tablespoon of olive oil. Shook it up good, then fried them in a
skillet in some oil, like french fries. They were extremely
delicious…sort of a cross between french fries and fried
zucchini…with a sort of sweet flavor. It appears turnips have low
carbs (my estimate is 2 per half an apple-sized turnip) and good
nutrients…I think they are going to be one of my new best friends
on this diet. I’ve never had them before now…I wonder how they
compare to rutabaga, which I have also never had.

really bombed it today

Sunday, May 22nd, 2005

Was doing sooo good and wound up eating fries! Dang my hubby I swear
he tries to sabotage me!!!! Atleast I am not quite so worried about
the sugar issues. the main thing I have sugar in is my salad dressing
and I use that sparingly also in my pickle relish wich is less than a
teaspoon. I also went to the dentist and am getting the infection
taking care of.

modified induction
the basic induction, but would like to be able to try some of the
recipies that you cant have on induction…
Kim~ I added nuts, atkins endulge bars ( although some will tell you not to
do that , it keeps me going ), and occasionally blue berries. I still stay
under 20 carbs. Sharon

Help with Breakfast at Shoney’s

Saturday, May 21st, 2005

Hi all,
My hubby and I are going to Shoney’s for breakfast in the morning.
I’m only on week 4 and still on induction. So help!! Are their eggs
real or powered? Should I trust the bacan and sausage? I tried
to get out of going but we’re meeting other people there. I have
been doing to good I don’t want a meal away from home to blow it.

Papa Murphy’s pizza

Saturday, May 21st, 2005

Not that this is appropriate for induction, but if you have a Papa
Murphy’s pizza in your town (Take-N-Bake) they just came out with a
50% less carb, 50% less fat pizza with the “same taste” (yah right).
Just thought I’d announce that yet another place is becoming more
carb friendly.
