Good Morning
This quote was in my Atkins newsletter this a.m. I just wanted to
share it with the people who might be frustrated at “stalls.”
“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close
they were to success when they gave up.”
Thomas A. Edison
Don’t give up! If you think you might be stalling, try to figure out
what you can do different. It could be something as simple as
eating more meat, cutting out a certain food. Keep trying…you’ll
get there! If you feel like cheating, go through a drivethru and
order a double cheeseburger (throw away the bun). What a
decadent treat! Yum.

Dodie here, I just had to share the good news. I was not losing so a
new found friend told me to try an all veggie soup, no meat, or fat.
I didn’t think I’d like it, but it was so good my husband even ate
it and liked it. Had to make a second batch the next day. Anyhow I
had 7 1/2 cups of it a day. Any veggie you like that is lower in
carbs. I chose cabbage, celery, boc choy, onion, and garlic. It was
so good and had it the second day too. THen she told me to go back
to meat, but only have sugar free jello and whipped cream for
afternoon and evening meals. I had bacon and eggs or hamburger and
eggs for breakfast. I have started to drop my weight. I have lost 7
lbs so far. So feel like this will get me straightened out. She said
I was protein blocked. I had been on the Atkins diet for three weeks
and had lost 7 lbs, but then gained it back. And no I hadn’t been
cheating at all. So decided to try this as I promised my doctor I
would lose 25 lbs in 3 months. THink i can make it now. I have been
on this diet a couple of years ago and had lost 50 lbs. So knew it
was good. Problem was I didn’t read the rest of the book, just enough
to lose and then gradually started eating carbs. For a long while it
stayed off and I just forgot about it and went back to eating more
and more of the wrong things.
Hope this will help some of you to not get discouraged. Good luck to
you all. Dodie

So you ate this for 2 days and it helped. Exactly what did you use for
broth??? I am definately going to try this. Sharon From Tx

Well as many of you know I have been hovering between 134 and 131. I
got up today and even after all the cheating I had done I was down to
130. I believe it has a lot to do with me flushing my system
yesterday. I drank over 120(somewhere around 130 to 140) oz and tried
to watch my carbs. I got up and my ketone strip showed a faint
change. I really wasn’t expecting any change bit sure am glad I saw
some. I also was able to get into a size 11/12 stretch pants last
night. Its not so much the hips I am happy about but that I got them
on, zipped and buttoned. I have been avoiding the premade stuff no
shakes, no bars though I will have to have it today when I am at work.
I ate breakfast about a half hr ago and ugh now i am incredibly
nauseated. I don’t know if it is from lack of sleep. I only got 5 hrs
last night. I am gonna try and lay down in a few minutes and see if
that helps.
Also I am excited. I have been trying to get hired by our local cable
company for 6 mo now , did all three required interviews and was
never hired(ok made no sense as I have 8 yrs of call center
experience) they called me back today to reapply WOO HOO. My cable
will be free and I will get cable internet. I am psyched. I figuer i
will work full time till I can get back in school and then I will
drop to part time.
Well better run

to All of YOU,
My name is Margi, I did the induction plan and Dr. Atkins approx. 3-4 yrs. ago.
I need to “free” my body from sugar, flour and wheat and have been on a binge
since March 2005 after GOD took away 116 lbs. I had been on “Food Addiction-the
Body Knows” (Kay Sheppard) chemically free food program since 08/02/03. I am
struggling to recover from this horrendous binge. Hopefully we have some/many
12 steppers in this group. I was amazed to see the small amount of people who
share, perhaps that will change as we all become more motivated to help one
another and ourselves.
Happy to be Here,
W/Love and Lots of Hope,
Margi from New Jersey
