Whipping cream? Is that like whip cream in a can or is it the milk quart

Have any of you tried some of the recipes found on www.lowcarbrecipes.org ?
I was looking through the recipes and I noticed that not many of them are
rated. They look really good and I think I want to try some of them because
I’m afraid that I will get bored with eating the same things for breakfast,
lunch and dinner. I understand the concept of this “diet” but I’m not very
creative when it comes to thinking of things to make. I would like your
input if you have tried any of the things I was looking at. The recipes I
was looking at are:
Breakfast Custard
Sweet induction breakfast
You wont believe its not French toast
Philly me up eggs
Hamburger and cheese dish
Pinwheels
Broccoli, ham and cheese casserole
cauliflower potatoes
green beans my Old Fashion Recipe
Slow roasted country style ribs
Super easy meatloaf
cheese crisps
Pepperoni crackers
Thanks for all your help and ideas.

unbelievable!!!!

Sunday, July 31st, 2005

I have been a member of this group since November. I read a lot of
the posts but I think I have written once or twice, but when I read
the harsh and mean posts about ones spelling, it pissed me off to the
point that I needed to vent.
How dare you belittle someone that is obviously here for the same
reason we all are. I think that was rude and uncalled for…and of
course, I know, it’s my opinion, and every one has one, but hurting
ones feelings it not necessary.
You may have been a “champion” at spelling bees but you definitely
aren’t a “champion” of compassion or respect.

Coffee Creamer

Saturday, July 30th, 2005

Hi Denise…(I’m also cold today)…thanks, thanks, thanks, for the tip on
lc protein powder in coffee. I was using heavy cream, but I just can’t
handle the calories and fat. I tried black instant coffee, yuck. Now, I
love the powder in it. Yu made my day…Barbara

Hi Everyone…another suggestion…if someone is answering someone else
directly, just skip the answer (even if it is misspelled, misquoted, etc.)
and move on to whatever pertains to you. Or use the delete key.
Each of us have a place here, and even though I’m an excellent speller, I
still make mistakes. It doesn’t mean anything, just that I am human, and
not Jesus Christ.
And, I, too, Lisa use too many exclamation marks. Oh, well, tomorrow’s
another day, and in the meantime, I wish all of you peace for today, and
healthy choices in your eating. Barbara in Holland

Entering week 6

Friday, July 29th, 2005

I am now in week 6 and still doing ok. Weight loss has slowed but I
am only 18 pounds from my goal weight so I would expect it to slow
down. The scale does continue to move but only about 1 pound per
week. I have started to go down a size in clothing but I still like
clothes to feel big on me so I don’t always go for the “fitted”
route. I am eating great. I just watch what carbs are included in
a dish and either find a way to substitue them or don’t use them.
Next week I get the lab work done and will see how Atkins has worked
for me by how my cholesterol level changes. I am looking foward to
seeing my Dr 15 pounds lighter.

what to use in coffee for creamer

Friday, July 29th, 2005

Use heavy whipping cream - not whipped of course but heavy cream, the lowest
amount of carbs. Your container will probably say zero carbs but count .6 I
think for 2 TBS, per Atkins carb counter.

MY MENU FOR TODAY

Friday, July 29th, 2005

Great job this week everyone. Sorry in advance for any typo’s. I had both
eyees operated on this week, and things are a bit fuzzy. This has been a bad
week
with surgery and all. But I am ready to start again! I will weigh in
tomorrow! I want to join the 200 club! LOL Last week I weighed in at 203.
I didn’t realize coffee had carbs. Thank you for clearing that up. I no
longer use any sugar or splenda in it! But I admit, I am addicted to the
powdered
flavors you put in coffe. One thing I have learned from this list is
subsitution! I now put a tablespoon of low carb protein powder in it! Delisous!
Getting
some protein at the same time. Vanilla is awesome!
Denise (still freezing in Pittsburgh)!
I use fitday and for coffee, it’s 1g carb for every 10 oz of coffee.
Add carb(s) for the coffee you drink. Sad, but true!
Tell your little voices to SHUT UP! I can’t hear mine……
