I don’t know whether Angie unsubbed or not. Excuse me if I didn’t run to you
your answer. I was having a crisis of my own. No one answered, probably
because they didn’t have an answer. No one answered my question either. Excuse
my if
I’m little pissed. Below is what I did today. Add to the fact that my mom was
just cleared as cancer free for 1 year. Excuse my if she had a ruptured
gallbladder that damn near killed her doing chemo. Excuse me if her liver was
ripped when the gallbladder ruptured and over 250 gallstones spilled into her
intestinal track. Pardon me for not making you my priority
Just when we are able to breathe a sigh of relief, we rushed mom to the
hospital. Duane was going to wash the ceiling and cabinets down for her, so she
got
the bucket set up for him. Them she went up the latter. Lost her balance. It
was the ugliest thing I seen. And that was after Duane got her leg out from
under the table. She felt herself falling, that must have been when she
dislocated and shattered the ankle, then her knee gave in. It is also dislocated
and
shattered. She is in major pain. They can’t even splint it at this point. They
have it immobilized, and she is on the waiting list for surgery tomorrow. They
call it an at call list. If she doesn’t have surgery tomorrow, it will be
Tuesday. Will keep you updated

Gastric By-Pass Surgery - imp…

Tuesday, October 25th, 2005

Wow Cho, that is some story! Could this syndrome also have caused you to
have gained the weight to begin with, whereas someone else may not have?
My mom tried Atkins for about 1-2 months, and she is very “good” when she
diets. i think the most she had was 1/2 bar of a small carbo lite choc bar a day
(very small to begin with) and she only lost about 2 lbs. Her initial weight
was maybe about 160.
So she switched to weight watchers AND also started to elinimate some carbs
(white bread, rice, cereal) and did begin to lose weight normally. Wonder why
some people just can’t lose in Atkins? Age maybe? Obviously metabolic as seen
by you…

It amazes me..

Hope i did not say anything to offend. Thanks for the suggestions I have
received from you,

It amazes me..

When I posted about the milk not being allowed everyone was ssoooooo quick to
attack me for something that is clearly stated in Atkins’ books (THE NEWEST
ONES) that we are not allowed to have on Induction! And this is not just me I
see this happeneing to.. but others as well.. I have been on this list for less
than 2 wks and I see more people wanting to cheat and get patted on the back for
it.. they slam others who try to post what is and what isnt allowed.. half of
the people on this list who post regualarly are not even following Atkins
Induction to begin with..they are doing some kind of a modification for it,
which is fine, but that is NOT Induction any longer. All of that is well and
good, but what really pissed me off is that when someone has a genuine question
about something, and I am not refering to questions like “why cant we have the
candy?! or how come I cant have more than 3 pkgs of splenda daily” then the
genuine question goes un-noticed.. I have seen MORE people get pissed because of
the rules Atkins laid down in the 1st place.. I posted a very serious question
today.. in tears when I wrote it and I know that it was read because my post
following it was responded to in an attack manner, but the serious one went un
noticed.. No one here seems to be interested in helping others as much as they
are interested in learning how to cheat and get patted on the back for it..
I am done.. this list is no help to anyone as much as other sites I have found
with people who are willing to help and want to without having to always be
right! Dont bother to respond to me, I have unsubbed… worthless.. except for a
few, like ‘Cho’ and ‘a…’ and ‘Stacey’ who seem to have their heads screwed on
straight.

I just read on a chat board forum that there were several people over there
that had expereienced stalls because of the Advantage shakes and bars.. Maybe
that is what is causing me to stall now.. I am cutting them out this next week
to see what happens.. *sigh*.. here we go again.. avoiding “A” because it
causes “B” even though Atkins says you can have it during Induction
i thought you could not have the shakes and bars on induction? or am I
misreading this post

Frustrated..

Monday, October 24th, 2005

I am not haveing a good day here today.. I have tension in my left leg and I am
freaking out about it.. worring about blood clots and all kinds of stupid crap
like that.. but before i get to that.. let me give you some background about
me.. I am 24 and 200 lbs as of this morning and I am 5ft 7in. I was always
around 150lbs until 5 years ago. I have never been diagnosed with any kind of
health disorder other than mitrovalve prolapse and it is so extremely slight
that it was not diagnosed on an EKG because it was not seen there, but a nurse
detected it when I was in thie hospital while in labor with my1st baby and I was
pushing.. which is enough to give anyone mitrovalve prolapse.. ne way… I dont
take medication for it and it never bothers me I would never know about having
it if the nurse didnt tell me I had it back in 2000.. that is the only health
problem, if you would even call it that, that I have.. other than I no longer
have a gall bladder either.. but nothing bothers me as far as food goes…
okay so here is why I am frustrated.. I have been on Atkins since the 25th of
Feb.. nearly a month. I have lost a total of 10lbs, but I keep gaining and
loosing the last stinking 5 lbs for the past two weeks. At my two week mark, I
had lost about 3 inches in my waiste and I keep loosing and gaining those last
two inches. *sigh* I have only caved in one time and that was four days ago. I
am in ketosis.. have the strips and have been testing myself.. but they are not
dark at all. Instead they are moderately pink and I have not had anything that
is not allowed for the past four days. I have what I call tension in the calf
muscle of my left leg.. I woke up two nights ago with my left leg (both the calf
and the thigh) feeling like they wanted to go into a charlie horse, but they
wouldnt. So I have been reading about Potassium and sodium.. I know it is not my
sodium.. I am getting about 2000grms a day and I knwo it is not dehydration.. I
drink about 3 to 4 qts of water a day.. so at this point I am just flat out
disgusted with things. I am afraid to work out because it might cause a lack of
potassium which can lead to heart attack or stroke.. *sigh*… so other than
eating a banana or potatoe, or taking my Basic 3 suppliments, I dont know what
to do to get more in my diet.. gawd, I just spent like $75 at GNC yesterday and
an additional $75 at the grocery yesterday too getting meats and veggies and
such. I feel like giving up because I am not seeing any results at all and this
little venture is doing absolutley no good for me and is no longer an enjoyable
one.. I dont have cravings, I am not hungry.. I just cant seem to figure out
what it going on with my leg.. just getting flat out disgusted. It is taking up
my center of attention and I am unable to get anything done for reading about
all this shit trying to figure out what to eat and what to take as far as
vitamins go to help it. Seems that everything I read about Atkins is telling me
to watch out for “factor A” and “factor B” and it is all because of “factor
C”… I think I eat a balanced range of foods.. tons of greens, eggs, meat and I
snack on an Atkins Advantage bar if I want something sweet, which is what he
tells us to do. But nothing is working.. I am a size 18, used to be a 10 and I
am beginning to beleive that I am never gonna be that size again, so who cares..
*sigh*.. not a happy day as I write this while I am in tears… : (

CarbOptions?

Sunday, October 23rd, 2005

Has anyone tried the carb options things? I am new to this, and
actually shipping Atkins foods, on my budget, is not an option for
me. I see in my local supermarket they have these products. Just
curious.

‘Peanut Butter Cup’

Sunday, October 23rd, 2005

Serves 1
Ingredients
1 no sugar added fudgsicle 1-2 tablespoons lo carb peanut butter 1-2
tablespoons light frozen whipped topping or whipping cream

Take a no sugar added fudgsicle and scrape it off the stick (microwaving it
for about 15 seconds helps). Then add 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter and 1-2
