request for stats- weather

Friday, January 27th, 2006

We do get into the 100s in August, but I live in the south and we have LOTS of
humidity- great for the skin, but not for hair. It always feels hotter and
colder here than the thermometer reads.
We are in the 80s right now but will soon hit the 90s and stay there until
September.
Thanks and good luck to everyone!!

was drinker water, now containers

Thursday, January 26th, 2006

I used to have a really hard time with the water thing… Then I got an idea
when I was at a Tupperware party. They sell 32 oz tumblers with a cover and a
spout. (they even have ones that change colors). Anyway, they even sell a
little holder for them. The thing is, you could them half way the night before
with water, and in the morning fill them the rest of the way, and it would be
your water for the whole day. It worked great for me (when we had water I would
drink at home) but now I just drink 2 small bottles at home, and 1 big one at
the gym ~Stacy Hayes

request for stats

Wednesday, January 25th, 2006

Well, the reason I didn’t post my stats is because I don’t have too much to lose
and some people might wonder why I was trying to lose weight at all. I am going
to post my stats and hope no one criticizes my goal weight.
My goal weight is pretty low, but for my height and shape and bone structure it
is ok. It is not anorexic - I checked my body fat composition for that weight
and it is in the normal range. I weighed this for 4 years (did Atkins the first
time to get there) and want to be that weight again as I feel better at that
weight and all of the cellulite disappears from the backs of my legs. I live in
a pretty warm climate and can wear shorts about 9-10 months of the year.
I started at 134, am at 124 and am going to 104. Will include this with future
postings.

rosie’s shirt..

That must feel great! You should hold onto it as a reminder… (I actually buy
a pair of pants that are too small, and keep them until I can fit into them, and
then buy another pair that is too small, and do the same with them… So far
I’ve gone through 4 pairs of pants.

Lbs vs Inches

Wednesday, January 25th, 2006

Amanda,
Are you working out? You’ll definitely see the inches go too. Especially if
you do both cardio and strength. Cardio burns the calories… And with
strength you build muscle (which yes, weighs more than fat… so adjust
accordingly) but, lean muscle burns fat when at rest. Meaning, lift some
weights, and all day long you reap the benefits. HTH

Lbs vs Inches

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

Has anyone noticed that they will go back and forth between losing
lbs and inches? I’m trying to figure out if I’m doing something
wrong, or if this is normal. I will lose lbs for a few weeks but not
many inches, then I will lose inches for a few weeks, but only a lb
or two a week. I’ve been losing lbs now for about a month but have
stayed in the same clothes. This worries me because my goal weight
doesn’t seem nearly as far off as the size 12 I was hoping for!!!

Different people have different body types - remember the pear and apple thing.
Different body types lose weight in different places. Eventually your stomach
will show a change.

Ready To Start

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

I have been a member here for awhile now.Been trying to learn all I can
before commiting myself to the new lifestyle changes I am going to make
Could someone that has done well on this send me some sample menus for
breakfast, lunch and dinner.I am a Pepsi-holic so any ideas on letting this
bad habit go will be appreciated.I am guessing that about the best thing to
drink is going to be water? Is that correct?
I am looking forward to seeing some menus and getting my eating habits
adjusted.
Thanks for all your support.
Also if you have any ideas for meals on the run since that is they way that
I usually have to eat that would be nice also
Thanks again

weird dreams

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

Glad to know I’m not the only one dreaming about carbs! So far I’ve dreamed
about stuffing with gravy, chocolate (of course) and cake. As long as they stay
in my dreams and out of my mouth, I’m happy.
To me, this proves that carbs are really an addiction. I gave up smoking 11
years ago and still dream about it once in a while and wake up telling myself
‘it was only a dream, you don’t smoke anymore.’

Fitday and Frustration question

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

I see many posts talking about fitday. What is it?
Also, I just finished my induction period. Lost 4.5 the first five
days but have since gained that back plus 3 more pounds. My strips
were dark for a few days and then light, then dark, then light. I
have been very very careful and never go over 20 carbs a day.
Suggestions? Ideas?
Getting frustrated!!! I didn’t start doing this to gain weight!!
Thanks.
