You won’t be hungry. I was the same way, I snacked on junk food all day, but
now I’m never hungry.

Hey, all. Don’t remember where I got this recipe but it’s yummy so I
thought I’d post it. I make it really spicy, but there’s a LOT of
room for controlling the heat.
2 lb chicken wing pieces
approx 3 T. Tabasco, Red Hot, or your favorite hot sauce (I use a mix
of green Tabasco and a roasted Chipotle hot sauce)
1/8 t. chili powder
black pepper
2 T grated parmesan cheese
1/8 t. garlic salt
1/2 stick butter
Bleu cheese dressing for dipping
Fry the wings in oil until they’re starting to brown (I usually leave
them in about 25 minutes). Take them out and put them into a bowl
that has a cover. . pour the butter over them and stir it up. Pour
in the hot sauce. . . stir it up. . sprinkle on the pepper and chili
powder and stir again. . . then sprinkle on garlic salt and the
parmesan cheese. Put the lid on the bowl and shake it all up. Let
it sit for a few minutes, then shake it again. I do that 2 or three
times and give the wings about 5 mintues for all of the flavors to
get together and do good things!!

I also did not see the huge jumps in my weight loss like others have
and did the diet by the book. My husband has had the same problem
although he is losing faster than I am even though I work out and
eat less. We both have been eating the bars (1x/day) to keep us from
cheating or binging otherwise. The package says they are ok for the
Induction phase but I have seen some posting on this site say they
can’t lose weight while eating them. I have but it is slow.
Personally, if I didn’t have a bar every day I know I would not stay
on the diet. It keeps me from feeling deprived.
I did however see inches lost and have had a slow but steady loss.
While I long for a huge jump like I have seen others have, I also
know that: a) after a few weeks on the diet, I felt less moody and
more in control of my eating than I have in a long, long time, b)
inches is great and I use the advice of a previous poster– look at
whateve encourages you– pant sizes, inches, or lbs– because it
will work over time, c) the biggest jump I saw (2 lbs in a week) was
when I increased the intensite of my workout (30 minutes more
intense vs. 45 at a lower intensity), d) and this is important!!
don’t weigh every day. If you do you will get discouraged and then
overeat and never see the weight loss you would have if you stayed
off the scale and kept on the diet. Once per week works well– it
can keep you motivated.
Also- tomatoes are fruit and have lots of sugar.
Good luck and don’t give up.

192/166 (on own then got STUCK for 4 months even though low fat,
small portions, no booze, and working out, so turned to Atkins and
now I am losing again and feel MUCH better and less hungry than I
did on low fat diet; more importantly I have hope and slow but
steady results)

how long can you be on induction?

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006

Hi, I read through all of May’s mail and I see that some people have
been on induction for as much as 16 weeks. In the book it says you
should be on induction for two weeks and then progressively increase
your carb intake. Could someone explain that please because I
thought induction was the very strict part of the diet. Thanks Ros

I posted twice yesterday and haven’t seen them show up???
Is that because it’s a moderated list at first?

How much to eat on induction?

Tuesday, February 21st, 2006

Hi all, I have a question. How much can you eat? Do you have to
limit yourself to a certain portion size? I decided that in order
to pass the first few days without cravings I should eat alot so
that I would be full. And Day one was easy. I had an onion omlette
for breakfast with two eggs. Then I made an eggplant lasagne with
one eggplant, one packed of haloumi cheese and one jar of tomato
sauce (natural sauce with no added preservatives) which I have been
eating during the day. I haven’t had anything else to eat of course
but what I did eat was, in my opinion, alot. Can you advise me on
how to proceed to Day 2 so that I eat enough and not too much. When
can I hope to be in Ketosis? Thanks, Ros
