Any switch overs from South Beach… cardiac concerns
I’m on the fence…has anyone switched from S Beach to Atkins? My
doctor told me I should not follow Atkins because heart disease runs
in both sides of my family. I loved the idea of eating full fat
foods and losing weight quickly, but if I’m going to end up with
clogged arteries in the future, I must stay away…My father had
quadruple bypass successfully, but my mother underwent bypass surgery
and died due to complications… I’m very worried about heart
disease. I’m 34 yrs old and weigh 149 lbs.
Does anyone else have these concerns?
Please share your experiences with both plans.
Thanks and have a great day.

The big clogger is tarns fats … be sure that when you are eating butter …
that it really IS BUTTER and not margarine or spread … Some spreads say that
there are 0 trans fats per serving … but that is somewhat misleading … the
one that I know of that has actually NO trans fats is Smart Balance … or
actual butter

I went to the doctor a few months ago after being on Atkins for two months. My
doctor said people would kill for my cholesterol levels. My “bad” cholesterol
was VERY low and the good stuff was REALLY REALLY good.
I concur with Jonna Dunlap - her post was right on the money. Your doctor is of
the old school on the diet approach.
