Curves info in Shape Magazine
This is a really good article. I think curves is ideal for someone starting to
work out, or someone who is self conscious, or someone who is limited in what
they are able to do (particularly seniors). That being said, I found a few
flaws with it for myself. First, it’s a woman’s gym, and they don’t have
childcare. Second, no showers, so forget going on your way to work. Third,
it’s the same thing over and over, which you may get bored with, thereby less
likely to go to the gym.
However, I know a lot of trainers who recommend circuit training for their
clients, exclusively.
I belong to Bally’s, and I love it. However, they try to sell you the most
expensive membership, and a ton of personal training sessions (sometimes they
can be pushy). My gym offers: pool, aqua aerobics, steam room, sauna, child
care, racquet ball, free weights, nautilus, ab room, room for stretching,
precor, treadmills, elliptical, bikes, recumbent bikes, Stairmaster,
stairclimber, stability balls, core board classes, Latin dance classes,
kickboxing, spinning, yoga, Pilates, step aerobics, floor aerobics, lite
aerobics, belly dancing, indoor track, and a juice bar (for a fee). My
membership is $50 a month (which comes right out of my checking account). I
have on of the more expensive ones. Also, I signed a 2 year contract~which is
fine for me, because I know I will use it. On the website they have free 2 week
passes.

I belong to Curves, which I like, however, my husband’s shift changed at work
and now I am unable to very often because of the childcare issue.

you have to call and cancel. Found it very time consuming. Although meals are
preplanned, alot of cooking. And when I broke everything down, it was over 20
carbs a day.
