Im New

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

Hi, I did atkins over a year ago and I lost the 25lbs that i wanted to
and went on the maintance phase. However in September I decided I
Wasn’t going to be a sahm anymore and got a job in a small office.
Everyone seemed to eat out and before i knew it I was eating stuff I
knew I shouldn’t. Then I left my ex and moved into my own house and
geez wouldn’t you know it Ive put those 25lbs back on. Ive half
heartedly tried getting back on atkins but to no avail. I always seem
to give in. TOday I have firmly made up my mind that I am going to
stick with Atkins. I just need some support! So Im looking to all of
you to help support me on this since I have no one else to.

Fruit, Yogurt, Ice Cream…

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

Hi everyone,
I’m a newby to this group (joined it today ;-) ).
So let me introduce myself. My name is Angelique
and I’m on day 4 of Induction. I don’t have a lot
of weight to lose though (my goal is to lose 10 to
15 lbs). Since I’ve moved to another country (The
Netherlands) my eating behavior changed
completely.
I was eating a LOT of carbs (Potatoes every days,
candies, and all this stuff).
After 2 years living here, my old clothes have
been
a ‘bit’ tight and some don’t fit me anymore.
That’s
when I decided that I should change my way of
eating.
Since I had gone thru all kinds of low-calories
diet
before and they were successful for just a few
months,
besides my starvation, I was looking for something
new.
I heard about Dr. Atkins from members of another
group
and what I heard from them was very positive.
So I though: ‘Why not give it a try?!’ And here I
am!
I so far have no problems with cravings but I
would
like to know if and why it is a problem to eat
fruit,
yogurt, ice cream and nuts during induction and
even in
the beginning of Phase 2.
I read Dr. Atkins’ book but I still don’t
understand
why we should not include these items in our menu
even
if some are low in carbs.
Any input is welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Angelique

Diet RC

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

I found a diet RC and it’s sweetened with Splenda. It was in a 2
liter bottle. I also buy Diet Rite but when I buy either I find
myself drinking sodas than I do water which isn’t a good thing.
I’ve been on induction for almost 2 weeks and cheated a little on
Mother’s day - had a really small portion of strawberry short cake.
So I’ll probably have to start over again. I’ve lost 4 pounds so
far and still struggle to keep that much off.

More on Salad Dressing

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

OK, as far as not using salad dressings, forgive me if this has been
discussed, but what about the new “0″ carb dressings from Kraft and
Wishbone. The Caesar dressing and ranch are both very good. Is
there something about these that we shouldn’t use them the first two
weeks? Any thoughts?

Hello everyone,
What do you put in your coffee for creamer? Do you put heavy cream?

abs & thighs

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

I have started this woe on 1/2/04. I started out at 173 and I am
down 31 pounds and 44.5 inches so far. I am so happy about those
numbers BUT…. (yes - there is always a but) and I still have a BIG
one. plus thighs and abs. What is the best way to reduce the size of
these problem areas? I do go to Curves 3x a week and minimal
exercise at home on the gazelle. Will the gazelle help in this
area? Or what other exercises focuses on these parts of the body.

SF Jello Limit

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

Is there a SF jello limit while on induction? I have been eating one whole four
serving box throughout my day and I have been thinking that I am overdoing it.
Thank you,
Rhonda in TX
