Health Issues

well i was going to start on the challange..but at this point it wont do me
any good…i had bronchitis…which turned into pneumonia… i’ve been very sick…and now they’ve put me on prednisone…so i am expecting
to gain quite a bit of weight since its a 14 day course gained some back and i know its from that…because i havent been cheating..so
far i’ve gained 6 pounds back..which is discouraging..but i know i have to
take the medicine or i wont be able to breathe…which would be even worse. In
addition i had some blood tests done last week…my blood sugar was high..which
caused alarm in my doctor for two reasons…A..i’ve been on atkins 6 weeks now
so i’ve had NO sugar in my diet at all..and B..Diabetes is heavily in both
sides of my family..in addition to the blood sugar being high..my thyroid was
very low…so tonite i have to fast after 8pm..then go to the hospital tomorrow
morning around 9 and have the levels drawn..and a full thyroid panel including
Hashimoto’s disease, which i also have in my family..and then Friday i will
meet with the doc to discuss the results and see if i do in fact have diabetes
and/or a thyroid issue…this is very very upsetting to me..i havent even a
clue if i can still continue Atkins if i have either or both of these
things…if anyone has any suggestions or experiences with any of this…it
would be
appreciated

Group Database

There appears to be a database into which we could enter our names,
start weight, ending weight and other statistics.
Does one of the group owners have to give us access or create a table
so we can track the JUNE CHALLENGE?
I’m in at 234 as of yesterday.

Boboli Style Pizza Crust

3 large eggs
3 Tbs cottage cheese
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1 cup mozzarella cheese; shredded
Separate eggs placing whites in a medium deep bowl with cream of tarter.
Place egg yolks and cottage cheese in blender.
Whip whites to stiff peaks, blend yolks and cottage cheese until smooth. Fold
yolk mixture and approximately 1 cup of shredded cheese into whites.
Spread mixture on a pizza pan sprayed with Pam*. Bake at 325 degrees for 45
minutes to 1 hour.
Individual crusts can be made by spreading 4 to 6 portions on a cookie sheet.
This crust can then be topped with pizza toppings of your choice and put back
in the oven to heat and melt the cheese.
Also, the crust can be made ahead and kept refrigerated after baking.
Entire recipe: 600 Calories (kcal); 42g Total Fat; (63% calories from fat);
47g Protein; 7g Carbohydrate; 666mg Cholesterol; 810mg Sodium
Serving Ideas: Double this recipe to fill an entire cookie sheet (with
edges).
*One recipe will easily fill a 12″ pizza pan, and serve 2-3 people as a
crust. It is airy, but the cheese helps to bind it together. Let it sit a bit to
harden up more, but you still might need a fork to eat some of it.

Chili dog casserole for 1

Chili
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup whole peeled tomatos chopped up (include juice)
2 tbs chili powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 cup water
salt and pepper to taste
Brown ground beef in a skillet do not drain fat, add tomatos,chili
powder, cayenne pepper,cumin, water, and salt and pepper. Cook on
stovetop until thick and bubbly.
6 servings at less then 1 net carb / serving
Hot Dog
Grated Cheddar Cheese 2 oz
Mustard
Chopped Onions 1 tsp
Slice hotdog into a single serving microwave dish. Microwave on high
1 min or until hot.
Top hot dog pieces with mustard and spoon 1/2 cup chili over hotdog
slices. Top with cheese. Microwave or put under broiler until
cheese melts. Garnish with chopped onion. Save chili for taco salad
or more chili dogs.
Total net carbs 4 - 5

Vitamins making me sick?

I have purchased several bottles of vitamins and both have made me
SICK! Anyone else have this? I have taken One A Day Vitamins for
awhile and switched over to the Weight Loss Management brand. I was
sick as a dog. I recently bought the Carb Dieters brand and again,
last night I was so ill…. YUCK!

Not new /Lurker

Hi My name is Barbara from Massachusetts….I have been doing Atkins
since July 8th 2003..loosing 50lbs so far..I was on induction for
quite awhile…got into a little trouble when i started to eat Low
carb products…got hooked on macadamia..couldn’t eat 1/4C…ate
ALL!!LOL so no more of those..then my body started CRAVING fruit I
went with it….Nevr gained maybe 2-3 lbs..still stayed away from
white products…flour sugar etc.////I started at 220….so am now
getting tons of compliments…I love the way I feel…its a great
WOE…..I hope you don’t mind if I lurk I recently was let go on
another group because they unscribed all lurkers..which is a new one
for me to expierence as I started on it when there were only 20
members..I brought lots of people over there from induction…but
because I am busy with other groups I was let go for lurking…OH
WELL…I didn’t eat over it!!LOL
I like this group there doesn’t seem to be a lot of wrist
slapping…I like to see people being supportive…you cn always
start a new day anytime during the day….

Are we all on the ‘challenge’?
It started Mon right? It is from June 1st to July 1st if I remember correctly.
I am here to officially start and weigh-in. I have been known to cheat so I
am going to try and stay as legal as I can.
