Starting Atkins

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

Hello
I’m new to this group and to Atkins.
I am planning on starting on Monday as I need to get my cupboards in
order with the correct induction foods.
I hope you guys can help me cause I have heaps of questions, and
although I keep reading the info from the books/website I think that
you can’t beat personal advice from those on the plan.
I read that should take vitamins whilst on the plan, I live in
Ireland and it probably won’t be that easy to locate a store which
sells the atkins brand, so, would a good multi vitamin do the same or
would I be better sending off for Atkins own ?
I’ve been on a low-fat diet and getting no where with it so I’m
hoping for some results. The biggest turn off is the breakfasts as
I’m not a big egg eater at the best of times, any suggestions there
would be great.
Sorry for the long message…looking forward to getting to know you
guys.

My Intro…

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

Hi Everyone,
I’m new here. Been lurking for about a week or so, and decided to bite the
bullet and post :) I started Atkins on 4/19/04. After my 2 weeks of induction, I slid back to some
bad eating habits. Carbed up. I didn’t eat nearly as bad as I had been, but way
over my daily 20 grams. So after a week of that, I went back to induction and
have been there ever since.
This time around I feel good and confident and I’m not craving the sweets or
carbs. I love it. I have a lot of weight to lose, and I truly think that I can
do it with the Atkins way of life.
Will be posting regularly now that I managed to introduce myself!

Starting This Week, Have Some Questions (X-Posted)

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

Hello to all!
I’m getting ready to start on induction this week (Thursday) and have a few
questions. This have probably already been answered, so my apologies if this is
so, but I couldn’t find the answers in the archives. I’ve seen a lot of
discussion about the daVinci sugar-free syrups and was wondering if they can be
used on induction. If so, if you add them to water for flavor, does that affect
the 64 ozs of water you are supposed to drink every day? Also, what about
drinking a flavored club soda (I really LOVE Italian sodas and was hoping I can
drink these; also will help to replace the diet Cokes I drink way too many of).
I realize that would not count as part of the water, was wondering about it in
addition. Also, since you can have 2-3 tablespoons of heavy or light cream a
day, could some of that be added to the club soda to make it a cream drink? Any
help/information/encouragement greatly appreciated :) Susan (215/215/145)
Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax
and get used to the idea.
