Dreams, Goals, Success

Hi Everyone,
My name is Lisa. I “joined” this group a while back, but have never
posted. I haven’t started Atkins yet. I am REALLY reluctant to give up my
carbs,
which makes me realize that I DO have a problem with them. I have been
trying to do Weight Watchers, but I keep going up and down. Some background - I
am
5′1″ tall. I did weigh 313 lbs, but had a gastric bypass operation in July
2000. Got down to 152 lbs. Began “grazing” and put on 22 lbs. I am now at
173 lbs. (lost a whole pound in the last year!). I am desperate and am
thinking of really diving into this. I guess I’m looking for some positive
comments
on this type of lifestyle. I am so resistant it’s pathetic — like a junkie
not willing to give up the drugs. Thanks.

I’m doing once I begin.
Hi Ladybug,
I had to read the book twice before everything started to sink in…now that
I’ve put myself back on induction I am rereading it, as moral support and also
for my own information. You will be surprised at how good you feel in such a
short time when you start the plan. It truly does make such a difference.
Good luck.

OMG Deborah…you have my mom’s EXACT same name. She spelled Deborah the same
way, and Harper was her married name (my maiden name). She passed away almost 10
years ago, and seeing your name in my inbox made my heart skip a few beats!

I just need to whine…
I am a bit frustrated at EVERYONE I know…. Why, you ask? I have lost a
total of 20 pounds.. TWENTY! and not one person has said a d@mn word…
My mom does but she knows I am changing my way of eatting, so she doesnt
count… *grumble* I’ll get over it… and when I loose more and they
finally say something… I’ll tell them to “kiss ‘it’”….
Now… I realize I loose the weight in my face and boobes first….. but
come on… not even a “There’s something different about you, Nic.”
Maybe my scale is lying to me??? heh.

Lisa,
I wouldn’t worry to much about the sticks. Mine have never turned pink. But
I’m still losing. I drink about 80 oz of water a day.

A day without laughter, is a wasted day.
Thanks Nicole
I found this to be a big help.
