I am so sorry you are having trouble “going to lose 40″, We all know it is
not easy. I find that if I stay away from all treats and really concentrate on
the meats, eggs, and salads, and lots and lots of real water….no soda! I
have a much easier time. Soda, kool-aid, and caffeine all cause sweet
cravings. Treats cause me to stall and want more….so….it is 8 pm and I just
opened a can of deviled ham….added mayo, onion, celery and took 2 celery
sticks
to scoop up the ham salad mixture (after drinking 2 full glasses of water to
curb my appetite)…..I now have eaten them and am satisfied.
Hope some of these ideas help….if all else fails…..I usually go to bed!!
Good luck,
Marcia

Thanks Marcia, that’s good advice. Doesn’t mayo have sugar in it and
is forbidden on induction? I’m confused about whether or not I am
allowed up to 20 grams of sugar or I’m supposed to have no sugar at
all the first two weeks. Which is it?

I don’t know about the mayo…..I have used it since day 1 and thought it was
allowed. Hmmmm, just went to Atkins site to see if I could find out….but
the site is down. Anyone know for sure if mayo is allowed?
    Thx,
    Marcia

    morning,
not only is mayo allowed, but it must be the full fat kind… no lowfat
stuff… raises the carb levels if it is.

Yes, real mayonaise is allowed. Salad dressing, or lowfat/fat free
mayonaisse is not allowed. From what I have read however, some
companies do add surgar to mayo, so make sure you check your
labels. I buy generic mayo from Pick N Save, or Walmart and neither
    one add sugar.

Yeah, here I thought all this time the mayo I buy was sugarless. I
finally rechecked the label, and discovered in horror there is
surgar. I then looked around in the health section and found a
mayonaise made with canola oil. NO sugar. all natural
ingredients. I think I will be shopping the health food aisle more
    often.

    Hi there!
I’m new here too…been doing Atkins for quite some time, got *very* thin but
after a tragedy early last Fall and a LOT of stress since, I’ve regained 50
pounds. I find the hardest thing to maintain is a positive frame of mind…and
without it, I’m as good as 16 lbs of pasta. Having a sense of community -and-
new sources of inspiration daily is invaluable in getting back on your feet
after breaking the diet repeated times.
So here I am, day 1 and going well enough…
Come back here daily and share your successes, your struggles…I’m sure
you’ll find commonality among the rest of us. After all, we’re all going through
    this together!
