Does anyone have a cheat day? Whether is is one meal, one day a week, once a
month??
The only day I allowed myself to cheat was on my birthday in April. I
didn't just go "hog wild" and eat whatever I wanted.. But, I did have a slice of
birthday cake at lunch, and a mixed drink at supper. I have very very rarely
"cheated".. the only way I cheat is if I take a tiny taste of something.
Like tonight, my kids made a cake from a mix and frosted it. I helped get the
last of the frosting out of the can and I licked a bit from my fingers. I
will have just a bite , tiny bite of something that is a no no. .but even that
is maybe once a month.. definitely not every day. The kind of cheating I do
more often is overeating low carb items. They are allowed on Atkins, but I
end up consuming too many carbs for that day if I dont really watch it. I
have learned to stay away from these low carb varieties of high carb foods (
bread, ice cream, candies, etc).. Its difficult for me to not eat too many of
them if I have them around the house. Sticking to whole foods, foods prepared
from scratch, and fresh foods is the best approach I have had to consistently
losing.
