Sunday, December 24th, 2006

I bought BUBBA burgers…. There is no listing for ingredents on the box. It
looks ok to eat from the nutritional info. Do any of you eat these burgers? Are
they okay of have on Induction?

Help me!

Sunday, December 24th, 2006

Hang in there, Becca. I have been on the fat fast for months and have only lost
5 pounds. Before that, I was actually gaining on induction. Just think of how
much more you would weigh if you gave up.
Keep reading the list. There is a lot of encouragement available for you here.
Write down everything that goes into your mouth. Weigh your food, don’t
estimate. Get FitDay, if you don’t already have it. Racewalk rather than just
walk at an easy pace. Don’t get discouraged by other’s quick weight loss. If
we lose it slower, our skin isn’t as likely to get saggy. ;-) Carol

Fit day, purchased version (Denise’s question)

Sunday, December 24th, 2006

Denise wrote “anyone know where I can get a trial download of it?”
No, I don’t see anywhere on the site, where they offer a trial version, but it
works very much like the online one, but with some more options, especially for
customizing the foods, combinations, etc, to your own preferences. For the
first day or two, after I had the purchased version, I didn’t think liked it as
well as the online one, but once I got used to the (minor) differences between
it them, I found I like it much better.
There is a food log, an activity log, weight log, body log, and even a mood
log! When you start it you enter your age, sex, weight, etc., so it’s set up
for you. There are several breakdowns of the foods, graphs, charts, etc. to see
the balance of nutrients, etc, and I could just go on, and on, but to keep from
boring everyone on the list, you’re all welcome to send me any specific
questions about what is included, to my personal email, and I’ll do my best to
try to answer them. pennys@… (Please don’t ask me to look things
up individual things for you, like carb counts, etc., since you can do that
yourself at the www.fitday.com site.) Personally, it “works for me”!! It
really has helped me behave, since the statistics are there right in front of
me. Much quicker and easier than having to wait for the site to load, sign in,
etc, as on the site.

Hi! and Many Questions

Sunday, December 24th, 2006

I just finished my first week of induction
and lost 12.5 pounds.
I have about a hundred to lose in all.
Some questions and requests for opinions:
1) If I am losing more than the recommended 7 pounds a week
on induction, but I have a lot to lose, should I stay on
induction for more than 2 weeks?
2) If I know I want to be able to eat extra carbs on a
particular day, can I maintain my weight loss if I make
up for it by eating fewer carbs on an earlier day?
Especially, on OWL, can I go down to 20 grams
(like induction) in order to allow more than the
20 + 3) Anyone know where to get sugar-free bacon in the
suburbs northwest of Boston, Massachusetts?
(Would Whole Foods, formerly known as Bread and Circus,
have it?)
4) Any advice on finding a nutritionist
who is Atkins friendly in my geographic area?
5) My purpose for weight loss is to improve my fertility.
Anyone else doing that? Anything I should change about
the diet on that account? (I am also seeing a fertility
specialist in parallel with the diet.)
6) Does anyone know what the risks are of staying on
Atkins for more than 6 months? People worry at me,
but are vague as to what the issue is. They mutter
things about my kidneys.
7) Has anyone here experimented with lower carb
sucralose sweetened mead (honey wine?) My sweetie,
who is also on the diet, likes to brew.
Thanks!

Just started yesterday, again!

Sunday, December 24th, 2006

I just started Atkins yesterday for the 2nd time and this time, I
really want to succeed. The first time I just couldn’t handle it
while I was going through too much stress with a divorce, etc. But
this time, I’m ready to get it right! Still need support, though!
Thanks!!

help please

Saturday, December 23rd, 2006

Hello All,
I am usually a shy lurker, trying to learn from all of your
experiences. However, I am at my wit’s end and I am asking for help!
I started Atkins exactly 2 weeks ago. I have been following
Induction, I have been sooooooooooo good! The only ‘cheating’ that I
have done is to have extra salad! I have read the book, and though it
was very hard to suspend my disbelief that I could have butter and
meats, I have done exactly as the book said. I should add that I am
5′ tall and I weighed 188 when I started.
I do not have a scale at home, but Iweighed myself at the beginning
and I weighed myself yesterday (day 13). I was expecting that I would
have lost a bunch of weight, because I have been so faithful. I have
lost exactly 1 pound. How can this be? I have done everything all
right! Is it just totally hopeless? I have never heard of people not
losing on induction, never. DId any of you have this experience?
This isn’t a stall, because I never started! I don’t think that I am
eating too little, and I drink all the water, and I walk everyday.
What am I doing wrong? I am so discouraged I can’t even express it. I
did measurements and there was no change there either. I hav ebeen
doing the Ketostix too, and they have been showing that I have ketones
in my urine, so I was fully expecting that I had lost weight!
I am hoping that someone out there had the same experience and can
give me a reason to continue. Right now I just feel like, why bother?
Any ideas? Becca
