New!!
Hey Everyone!!
My name is Steph, I’m from Canada. I’m on day #2, so far so good!
I decided to try Atkins, because I liked the idea of burning your
own fat for fuel.
I’m quite active, I’ve always worked out… over December and
January I’ve put on a good 15lbs. These 15 pounds are especially
aggravating to me because I spent a year prior seriously exercising
and eating healthy to loose them.
I’ve pretty much gone on a 2 month bender, I LOVE carbs and I know
that i’m addicted, which is another reason why I wanted to give this
a shot… I need to get these cravings and urges under control!
I have yet to step on the scale, because I know what it will say and
I’m afraid… all the hard work i’ve done over that past year, gone
out the window, because I couldn’t control myself for 2 months…
I will weigh myself next week, I’ll also be tracking my body fat,
which is actually more important to me than pounds… as muscle
weighs more than fat anyways!
There’s a couple things that I’ve done that might not agree with the
induction process… I’m use to eating 5-6 times a day… smaller
meals, every 2-3 hours… so, for two of those meals during the day
at work I have a protein shake. It’s not atkins, but it has no
sugar and is sweetned with sucralose, so I figure it can’t be that
bad right?????!!!
Also, after work is when I usually binge and eat all the carbs I can
possibly find… so what I’ve done is made some of the Atkins banana
nut muffins… that way I still have something sweet and resembling
bread! And I can melt some butter on it and work on getting my fat
intake up! Good or REAL bad????
Anyways, just thought I’d introduce myself… have a good day
everybody!!

Welcome! and welcome to Atkins. You will jump start weight loss
best if you follow the rules of Induction - and eat nothing that isn’t
on the Induction Foods list at least for the first 2 weeks.
Breads/shakes (even the ones endorsed by Atkins Nutritionals) should
be saved for the later phases. Drink PLENTY of water! Join our
sister board to help with motivation.
