Eat this Joel Stein (Time magazine)
Those who consume LARGE QUANITIES of Refined sugar, potatoes and
refined food are 75% more likely to be over weight. It is a proven fact
that people who drink soft drinks on a daily basis, refined bread and
processed potatoes are more likely to have health problems than those who
Diet consists of more natural unrefined foods including Fish, Poultry,
Beef, vegetables as well as limited amounts of grains.
Think about it, how is a piece of roasted grilled chicken wrapped by a
slice of bacon and a spinach salad unnatural or better said unhealthy?
Well if you add a refined flour dinner roll and a cup of mashed
potatoes and a can of soda you will make this meal a prescription for
weight gain. Some people out there even TIME Magazine still publish
articles as recently as this month degrading the benefits of a Low
Carb lifestyle. Well if you logically examined that a true Low Carb
life style simply cuts out the majority of refined foods and allows
consumption of some of the most natural foods known to mankind and
limits the foods that contain large quantities of carbs.
Remember that many ailments that plague mankind today can be directly
linked to the introduction of refined foods and sodas due to the huge
increase of sugars in the average American diet. America is the
fattest nation in the world due to cheap and highly profitable and
extremely addictive refined sugars and highly processed flours.
Even though a company files for bankruptcy protection does not mean
that the original founder’s principles were not true and sound. When a
person suggests that you should go on a bacon binge or claims that
they cannot live without bread than they are being unbalanced. In
ancient times the type of bread that was eaten by the Romans, Jews and
Egyptians was not WONDER BREAD. It hardly even looked like the bread
sold on the shelves today. It looked more like a tortilla. It was also
ground by stone and contained only 25% of the carbohydrates of today’s
typical bread. So lets get real and remember that moderation is the
key and most American’s including Joel Stein (Time magazine) are not
being moderate when they dip there dinner rolls in sugar while downing
a coke.
If the type of food you are eating was not around 200 years ago it
probably should not be consumed in large quantities. The ancient
Romans did not down Gatorade on their marches and candy bars weren’t
invented yet. But guess what? The majority of ancient civilizations
ate a diet that was low carb in nature. Look at the Egyptians, they
were a highly advanced society 5000 years ago that we have pictures of
and notice that none of the pictures have overweight people in them.
Ancient advanced societies ate lots of eggs, fish, feef, pork, and
unrefined grains. Fruits and Vegetables were in limited supply and the
larger the population the easier it was to slaughter a pig and dry
some of the meat for later consumption. Breads were rarely consumed in
large quantities. Fruits and vegetables were very seasonal at best and
were not eaten every day. Yet upon the study of ancient bones no
traces of cancer cells were found in King Tuts bones and no mention of
heart disease was mentioned in egypian medical scrolls yet these
doctors were able to identify infections and appropriate applications
for cures.
There are people that take verses from the Bible and construe it to
support whatever they want yet the basics are sound and true. Keep
this in mind in whatever you do and don’t let the opinions of those
sway what you know is tried and true.
