Dianne,
Rather than giving up, why not post your menu in fitday and see if someone
can spot any problems in what you are eating. If you are eating the proper
amounts of food, the right %s of protein/fat/carbs and drinking all your
water, you should not be tired and lacking energy (not caused by diet
anyway). Sometimes it is very simple and just a matter of eating too much
protein, not enough fat, too few calories, etc. Have you entered your meals
into fitday.com to see how things add up?

I’m giving up too….

I have been on this diet since February and lost 7 pounds - the
initial loss I had from my first 4 week induction. The only time I
went below that is when I skipped dinner but it came right back on. I
read the books and followed the WOE and all the suggestons from this
group. It just didn’t work from me. After 4 months I am tired most
of the time with a real lack of energy. I am maintaining 130 pounds
but my goal was #115. I have a small body frame but just can’t lose
the weight now that I have turned 40.
I wish you all success in your weight loss!

trying to start!!

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

ok I’ve done the atkins before and I lost 28 lbs I gained about 7 lbs
back so tomorrow i am trying to start the atkins again. I have to lose
30 lbs to reach my weight goal, becuz i am so short 5′1 I am supposed
to weight like 118 lbs which seems so small but I wanna try and it is
so hard but i guess if I can speak to people who are in my situation
maybe I can do it this time to reach my goal and stay at it. My one
problem with the atkins is boredom of food. For the strict 2 wks I
would stick to just meat and some cheese but the same meat mostly bacon
chicken and once a pork chop so thats why I believe I cant stay on it
long, what else can I throw in for the strict two wks so I dont get
bored with it. Also reading everyone else reached goals really help
too, its so great to see people go for it and get there makes me think
maybe I might be able too.

Aqua, before you totally give up on Atkins, why not post your menu here
and/or on Fitday.com. There are many possibilities that could be preventing
weight loss and maybe someone could help you figure that out, but we would
need to know exactly what you are consuming.
It could be something simple like too much protein, not enough fat, too many
or not enough calories, consumption of processed foods like shakes and bars
instead of eating “real” food. Fitday would break down everything you are
consuming into the %s, figure your calories, etc.

I’m giving up

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

Hi everybody,
I have to give this up. I have been on Induction for 2 months and have
gained 5 pounds. I have exercised and avoided carbs, but it’s just not
working. I really liked not being hungry all the time. I’ve learned
quite a bit from reading the book, so I have decided to do it the old-
fashioned way and cut calories, but this time I will avoid processed
and sugar-laden junk and sticking only to natural foods (no white
rice, sugar, flour, etc, and loads of fresh vegetables and meat).
Other reasons for the change:
- I was diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy recently - high protein diets
are best avoided
- I am also on the birth control pill because I have had no cycle for
the past year
I wish all of you the best with your weight loss in the future.
