Just wondering what everyone is doing with all that mayo?

mayo

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

I eat alot of mayo. Just about every day. I have had no problems with weight
loss either. just make sure thee is no sweetener in it at all, read the
label. I found a brand I really like at Sam’s Club,it is called Bakers and
Chef’s. I usually go through 1 gal jug a month. It might be an individual
thing though. Bonnie,PA

induction day 6………….

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

………and things are still going great. 5 pounds lost!
I’m wondering though……. Today I’m just tired. I dont feel “bad”,
I just dont feel “good”. No appetite. I know that I need to eat
something to get my metabolism kicking in, but the thought of putting
something into my mouth right now is just nauseating. Slowly drinking
my water, sips at a time. But is this normal in early induction??
Still in moderate ketosis so that’s good…..

Started Induction today…….

Friday, July 20th, 2007

This is my second round on Atkins. Started Induction today and so
far? Wonderful!! I feel good. I’m excited about it (definately not
dreading it this time!). I’ve done well today. 18 carbs, 14 net
though…….. Drinking my water. I didnt even have the desire to
cheat even! Knowing there are donut holes on the kitchen table and I
didnt even think twice about them. *That* is a big achievement in
itself……
A question though…..how long until the ketones are visible in the
urine? I remember last time I attempted Atkins, I was in bright
ketosis the first evening. I just checked and the strip said
negative. For me, that seeing the strip turn purple is a sigh of
progress and I’d love to see it….

Has anyone tried Release diet plan and pills from GNC? If so, does it
work along with the Atkins diet?
thanks
Dusty

Just a quick hello…….

Thursday, July 19th, 2007

Hi, I’m new to this list. My daughter (19 and at home) and I were on
Atkins before Thanksgiving and then we quit because of the holidays
and are now just getting back to business. I lost 23 pounds before
and need to loose 100 total. I know that I have lots to loose and am
finally motivated to get back on the diet. We are going tonight after
work to sign up at a gym, you have to pay a year in advance so that
might motivate memore since I’ve had to pay all that money.
I’m glad I’ve found this support group and look foward to ‘meeting’
everyone.

Medication inhibiting weightloss??

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

I am a 38 yr male. This is the 2nd time I have done the Atkins
diet. First time I was on it about 2 years ago, I dropped a lot of
weight during the induction period (around 10lbs or more), with no
problem. Ended up losing around 16-18 lbs after several months.
Kept the weight off for over a year and half by just eating right.
In Aug/Sept 04, I began experiencing an abnormal heartbeat (not
related to Atkins). I drove myself to the hospital and within 5
minutes I was flat line for over 1 minute. They brought me back via
chest compression. They checked me for blockages, and luckily I am
clean. The inserted a pacemaker to make sure my heart does not stop
again. I have been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrulation and a form of
sick synus syndrome. I take a beta blocker called Toprol XL (25mg),
which is a beta blocker. Since taking that medication, I have
gained back all the weight I lost. Last week, I began the Atkins
diet again. Tomorrow, it will be one week. I was @ 203 lbs and
after 3 days I was @ 199 lbs. I have not lost 1 single pound since
day 3. Still sitting at 199. I have kept my carb intake below 15
grams a day. I checked the Atkins website and it does say that
medication can inhibit weight loss, and listed beta blockers as a
potential inhibitor of weight loss.
My question is this. Is there anyone who is on a beta blocker
experiencing slower than expected weight loss? If I stay on the
diet, will I still have weight loss, or will I just be stuck on 199?
