Relapsed!!

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

I never thought I would find myself struggling to put the carbs down
one more time..I started on 4/2003 weighing in at 220lbs..I lost
65lbs and felt great..I am also a person that eats over emotions and
my 23 year old neice died from cancer a year ago April..My friend
and I took her to a beautiful place on the Cape and for the first
time I endulged in foods that were NOT Atkins approved..She passed
away the following weekend.
Slowly but surely I started eating BAD carbs and my stomach
started to look like I was pregnant AGAIN..It’s a genetic thing in
my family and being 69yrs.old I KNOW I am not pregnant!!
So here I am trying to put the carbs down one more time.I know
This food program works but when I took that first bite it then
became an
obsession..I am addicted to alcohol and haven’t drank for over
30yrs..The worse time for me is at night..
Let me welcome the new people this IS a great program..I lost
rather quickly..I never weighed myself everyday..I knew I was losing
because my clothes were getting loose..I was down to a size 12 in
pants..I am now in a 16..
Well its getting late and I am almost falling asleep..have
been in bed since wednesday with pneumonia..

on we go!

hi there
well the virdict is in, ive lost 4.6kg, about 13.5cm! John has lost almost
7kg!!!!
What i cant work out from the book is what i can add and what the acceptable
foods are in detail. Eg can we have a piece of chocolate? Is our body in
continuing keytosis and would that ruin it as in the induction phase? Can we
have little bits of nice things in moderation? How much bread can i eat now?
What did you do? tell me what an average day was for you in the ongoing weight
loss phase in terms of what you could have eaten?
thanks!

Hi from a newbug

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

Hi
This is my second time round on a Low Carb diet. The first time I
went from 15.5 stone to 14.5 stone. I put the weigh back on after I
got married, I dont know why maybe it was contentment, good living etc
etc.
Im determined to loose a bit more and keep it off this time. Im
going to the gym ttwice a week now to help with the diet and to help
keep the weight off when im finished.
Im not been incedibly rigid with the induction phase. Im eating
sauces like carbonanra (12 carbs per serving) to keep the food
interesting and tasty and im eating between 30 to 35 g of carb per
day. I know im loosing quite a bit of weight as my clothes feel
looser already. From my previous time on low carb I know that if I
eat more than 50g of carb per day then I start to eat the wrong sort
of food and the weight loss ends so I will be sticking to 30 to 35 g
per day until I have lost the weight I need to.
I find it an easy diet to stick to in the summer as its a good BBQ
diet, lots of grilled meat and salad. After a few weeks on the diet
the only extra carbs I will introduce will be a weekly ration of four
bottles of Marstons Low C Beer. Its much nicer and stronger tasting
than Michelob Ultra with less Carbs. If I can find them I will also
allow a third of a pack of low carb rolos per day if I can find
anywhere local that sells them.
Does anyone have any tips on keeping the breath fresh apart from
cleaning teeth more often?
Regards
Steve

Hi!! intro

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

Hi Ladies and Gentelmen,
I am the mom of 8 wonderful blessings. I am totally discused with
myself, yet am not sure any place other than a support group to go. I
have done Atkins in the past and it’s the only way I’ve ever been able
to lose weight. The last time I tried I couldn’t make it throught he
induction phase. so here I am, on Mother’s Day weighing the most I
ever have at an ugly 210. I want to start tommorrow am so today I’m
getting my bike ready to ride, checking out my food stuff so on
tuesday when I go to town I can get the veggies I need. I know I’m
adicted to sugar, and thaat will be the hardest place for me. I also
am a stress eatter. I have hypo thyroid, where I gain weight, and
carbs seem to love me. I am also a volunteer firefighter, and can’t
believe how out of shape I am. The other day, I had to squat for about
20 min, and it took 3 days for my rear to quit hurting! :( Ok, so I
will be here alot to get support and encouragement. it’s hard to cook
for my family and this too, but it can and will be done! Thanks,
hugs~~kelly

Anyone have personal experience with Hoodia?

Friday, August 24th, 2007

It seems to be the buzz, but I can’t find anyone who has actually used
it. I’m doing good on the Adkins, but some mornings instead of having
a small meal I feel like I could eat a side of beef! Hoodia sounds
good…but is it?
I’ve never been one to go for all the fads and pills and stuff, but if
it could help there might be some cows that are safe for now.
Thanks!
