Anyone know if this is Ok to use on chicken or if I want to make my
own hot wings during induction?
Hi everybody,
My name is Amelia and i am new to this group.I just discovered today
that i have gained another extra kilo:(. I feel fat and ugly. I move
like a polar bear, my moral is very low etc. I read about atkins diet
and i want to start it. I am 1.62 meters high and i weight 76.6
kilos:(. (i talk in the metric sistem because that’s what we used
here, i am from Romania, and i hope that is ok) I really need to do
something to loose 20 kilos. I dont wanna end up like my mom , grandma
and aunt who all are obese (over 100 kilos). My life at he moment is
sedentary, at work i just sit in a chair for eight hours and allways
in the car. I have managed once, like 9 years ago to lose almost 20
kilos, but now it seems imposible. I feel ,like i am stuck here with
no chance of being thin again. So i read about atkins diet and i wanna
try it too.
But the first question that comes into my mind is : Does it really
works? i have tryed many diets before but i starved for nothing lost
some kilos and then get back more. Also i would like to get more
information about the exact atkins diet, how to’s, and know
how’s.Probaly i can find a lot on the topic searching the internet but
it makes me feel better finding out from the people who really tried
it and it worked for them:)
I hope this post is not out of subject,
Thanks,
Amelia
Hi everyone,
I have been on induction for about 4 days. Yesterday when i checked my
ketones with a ketostix it was medium pink/purple. I was surprised but
very excited to see my efforts paying off. Today, I ate primarily the
same foods but tonight the ketostix was only vaguely pinkish. I was
somewhat disappointed because I kinda depend on the ketostix to be
more indicator that I am on track and for sure losing weight.
Does anyone else have these types of fluctuations?
Deb
Hi Guys,
Hope everyone is well. I need anyone that’s willing to, to just post
for me some of what you do to get back to basics, when you’ve been off
track. I’m having such a hard, hard time, getting back where I should
be. Does anyone have any ideas about getting through the feeling
really tired, headaches, sluggishness for the first few days of
induction. Something other than running off and eating something I
shouldn’t. Any ideas would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Cyndi
Eunice~ I haven’t tried any cooking with pork rinds but I do eat them with
hot sauce occasionally. sharon
Hello Everyone,
Yesterday, on the Atkins bulletin board, I noticed several recipes for seafood
which calls for “crushed” pork rinds for frying tuna or salmon.
Has anyone tried cooking this way? If so, I’m curious about the results (taste
and quality)
Thanks,
Eunice
Hello Everyone,
Recently, I added more fat to my eating plan. Does anyone know the daily
recommended amount of fat for the Atkins plan?
Eunice
I have been on induction for about 2 weeks. I know I’m in Ketosis( I
used the test strips) My weight hasn’t budged. No weight lost in
almost 2 weeks. What’s wrong! I’m so discouraged.
Hi All,
I am a new member on the list planning to lose at least 20-25 pounds.
My weight has crept slowly upwards since I turned 40..and I want to
put a stop to that and help UNdo some of my bad eating habits.
(binging and then skipping meals- or starving myself until I break
down and binge again) I know I need to follow a set plan- because
stopping and starting and never quite completing to my goal is one of
my main snags!! I can be all gung-ho at the beginning and by the 6th
day my good intentions die a harsh death and there I sit with a bag
of fritos or M& Ms… I don’t want to do that…AGAIN!!
I work with food on a daily basis 8 hours a day so I know that for me
PRE-planning my meals and cutting the carbs are both crucial.
I know I need to eat my green leafy veggies and keep regular
mealtimes and snacks. I know that I have been giving my poor, busy
overworked body the wrong fuels at the wrong times!!
I have a cousin that lost over 50 pounds on Atkins-strictly by the
book-and she looks GREAT. While I don’t have that much excess weight
I take heart knowing that if she could do this-so can I. We are about
the same age.
Hope to get some good tips, and motivation from all of you. I have
heard that the first few days are the toughest. Is that true??
Nice to meet you all!!
Teresa
